Dear de-reviewing testamusician Mister SydBarrett, I have a vague and unusual suspicion: isn’t it that (the album) for qasus und in a certain muziqo-verse, sounds.. how can I say.. I wouldn't know how better to explain.. à-la-Motorhead? Regards from the skerttore to josa. Your s.c. of (s)trust. The last motortested album I recall listening to from the write-crusher seems to be "Orgasmatron" and/or "Rock'n'Roll" todayùdiqquì.
Dear SydBarrett: congratulations! The review is the right length and quite expressive, and Lemmy's Motorhead are exceptional. W MOTORHEAD! W GUNS N' ROSES!
Bartleboom, I don't know if everyone is joking, but the important thing is that before there was no review of this album and now there is one! Of course, it's nothing special (the review), the album which seems to have become hard to find now (at least it was a few years ago), is very "Motorhead," but there are some songs that truly deserve recognition, and considering it was released after the misstep of "March Or Die," it's more than fine!!
..yes..yes..for goodness' sake!!..I didn't mean to be too polemic (by the way, I agree with your judgment on the album: I stand by my "3", but I concur that there has been worse), it’s just that Axl’s comment (and rating) made me die laughing: "the review is of the right length and QUITE EXPRESSIVE"!!..I hope you'll agree with me that, once you take away the song titles and some tidbits like "Devils is the song that closes the album. Quite nice.", what remains is hardly something you could call "expressive"!! Your reasoning that "better a poorly written review than none at all", I must say, leaves me at least perplexed.. but, as I said at the beginning, I don't want to start a debate! Bye!
@ Bartleboom: I actually agree with you on the review, which is anything but "quite expressive" :)), but looking on the bright side (a slim consolation), now there’s also a space where we can talk about this CD... considering how many people know it, I don’t think it will become one of the most visited pages on Debaser!! Bye!
Damn, I had it and then I lost it! Is it impossible to find now? But who’s looking for it? I only remember Born to Raise Hell and about ten of its substitutes.
Poor reviews, Motorhead are still Motorhead, with all the pros and cons one might expect. On this particular album, there are a couple of really catchy tracks like "Death or Glory" and "Born to Raise Hell" (if I remember correctly, there should be a version featuring Ice T and Whitfield Crane on vocals alongside the legendary Lemmy). I must say that "Don't Let Daddy Kiss Me" has always brought a smile to my face, because hearing Lemmy sing (or perhaps mumble) over an acoustic backing while uttering a line like the title has always made me laugh.
