At the time, I listened to them for a while too, but there was so much else and better to hear. So, I would say that the Motley Crue are heirs of Alice Cooper since they are American. I see the W.A.S.P. more as legitimate children of the Carpathian train, a failed attempt to merge '80s metal with the circus, a lot of show with few musical flashes, somewhat the spectacular shock embryo of what the metal of the '90s will become with Manson in the spotlight or on the mugs, if you prefer.
What an album! A nice divertissement by Blackie, somewhere between the typical WASP sound and some industrial and electronic touches. It never goes overboard or strays too far; don’t expect a Ministry or Trent Reznor album, but there are definitely clear hints coming from that world. I like it a lot—it's an album that combines a certain decadent, futuristic, and twisted vibe with the heavy rock of a band that has given the world some of the greatest records in American heavy music. Let yourself be carried away on this frenetic, nocturnal, and disturbed journey.
