Cutaneous larva migrans, also known as “creeping eruption” or “serpiginous dermatitis,” is the most common acquired tropical dermatosis. It presents as a serpiginous, itchy rash confined to the skin of the feet, arms, or buttocks. It is caused by the transcutaneous penetration and subsequent migration of larvae from a hookworm, the Ancylostoma, a nematode that lives as a parasite in the intestines of dogs and cats. The most common is Ancylostoma braziliense, which is a parasite of both wild and domestic dogs and cats found in the central and southern United States, Central America, South America, and the Caribbean. The cutaneous manifestations are due to a hypersensitivity reaction to the parasites and their products. It is very common in tropical and subtropical geographical areas; however, the ease and increasing frequency of vacations in such areas have led to the disease no longer being confined to these geographical boundaries. The life cycle of the parasites begins when animals infested with Ancylostoma excrete the microscopic eggs of the parasite in their feces: the eggs move from the animal's feces into the moist, warm, sandy soil (typical of tropical and subtropical regions) where they hatch and larvae are born. Humans become infected with the larvae in areas that come into direct contact with contaminated soil (e.g., walking barefoot on the sand, lying on the beach). The larvae penetrate the skin due to their proteases after contact. Once they pass through the stratum corneum (the outermost layer of the epidermis and thus of the skin), they lose their natural cuticle and after a few days begin their migration, remaining limited to the epidermis (the superficial part of the skin), presumably due to a lack of enzymes (collagenases) that would allow them to cross the membrane separating the epidermis from the dermis (the basal membrane).
I have Kanye's albums (not originals, mind you), he doesn't exactly drive me crazy, but with this album and "my beautiful dark..." he reached some appreciable Pop peaks... sure, I don't listen to him regularly, but every now and then as background music it's nice.
I know him very very little, but what they play sometimes on the radio or on TV doesn’t bother me at all... definitely more talented than many of his colleagues in the scene, that's for sure.
The very fact that he has resurrected an archaeological artifact like the 808 and is being talked about as an innovator seems like quite a contradiction to me. "The College Dropout" had some noteworthy tracks, the same goes for "Late Registration." But from there onward, it plummets, hitting rock bottom with this vulgar piece of crap you are reviewing. If you consider Young Jeezy a rapper capable of writing a standout verse, it seems to me that you haven't listened to much Rap.
First of all, let's not start misinterpreting and misunderstanding Italian: I said that among the features, the one that stands out (that is, stands out among the features) is that of Younger Jeezy, an artist I don't follow but who delivered a good verse. Second point: innovating, in music as in art in general, is not just about creating something new, but also about using something outside of its usual context, which applies to the aforementioned drum machine... As for whether you listen to rap or not, I can tell you that it's absolutely not true, but it's not my interest to convince you.
Innovating, in music as in art in general, is not just about creating something new, but also about using something outside of its usual context; for instance, the 808 in Rap has been used since the days of Turin as the capital of Italy. I won't insist on ianggisi's verse, but surely, if you were featured on Trucebaldazzi's album, you would give him a run for his money.
Yes, but it's clear how the 808 was used in a completely unconventional way. I mean, one thing is how they used it in the '80s, another is pairing it with autotune and various stuff... And then I would steer clear of belittling Kanye by "comparing" him to Trucebaldazzi, especially considering this is not a rap album.
These are tastes. Of course, I am well aware that it’s not a masterpiece, and I’ve written it, nor do I think it’s on the level of the previous works, but throwing it in the trash seems like a serious mistake to me.
Using autotune is not something to boast about at all; it's just one of the many ways to cheat that digital technology offers. The 808 is like the Stratocaster; we will always see it throughout the ages. KW has taken advantage of a return to vintage electronic productions. Kanye West is a pop star, a brand, a commercial operation. The trouble is that his music is also considered authorial, as if he wrote or composed refined things. He has been and always will be a great clown.
It's not a matter of prejudice; it's just that if you take samples exactly as they are from the original record and put them in a loop, you've discovered hot water. And if in the credits of your record, the list of those who worked on the beats is longer than the list of samples, it seems to me that the way you had done them sounded a bit off. If you add to this that his technical and content level as an MC is below par, you understand why I find him almost unapproachable.
but in fact Kanye's ability for me is that of being an excellent conductor; beyond some samples that are taken as they are, I believe that his skill lies precisely in his ability to perfectly blend the sounds produced by different producers (for instance, in the latest album, where the credits list the names of Pete Rock, RZA, and Premier, people who are not related to the mainstream at all). The blend that comes out is explosive :) I’m not sure if I explained myself very well, but my idea is that Kanye West is a great conductor!
Kanye West should show a little less arrogance (just look at the pathetic display at the Video Awards with the albeit boring Taylor Swift, the sneaky move towards Beyonce, and a few other various outbursts) and yet he manages to distinctly distance himself from the inflation of hip hop ghetto style and play a bit with sounds. This is a good synthpop work; Love Lockdown is very enjoyable to me. Even Twisted Fantasy, his latest, is quite good (with Power leading the way).
Together with Graduation, this is his weakest album, let's face it, rather ugly. But I adore Kanye West. I can't help it. The College Dropout and MBDTF (which to be honest are the only ones I really like) are to my ears fucking masterpieces. And Late Registration had some great singles: Touch the Sky, Gold Digger. HIP POP YA BISH!
It's an extraordinary record. All Fall Down, Jesus Walks, Through the Wire, Slow Jamz, but also everything else—I still pump them in the car, it's a pleasure. What great tracks that album had. And most importantly: they played them on the radio. Rarely, but they played them a bit. I mean outside of the "rap that winks at pop" programming. If you didn't consider it hip hop, at least it was pop with balls and everyone was happy.
I haven't heard it in a long time, but I used to play it while I was doing some naughty things with the girl ehhehehehe :D but that was a long time ago. Coming to table 2, a super fabulous and sweet review of Kanye's first album!!!!!
