...zimo, are you aware that they will massacre you in here? Anyway, I really like Nickelback ever since "How You Remind Me," it's a band that I'm "attached" to for personal reasons and memories that have nothing to do with their very modest quality. With this album, I find that they are drifting into pop. I don't really agree that the riffs are meaner than on previous albums, especially since calling their riffs "mean" seems excessive to me. As for the rest, I agree with everything...the rating for the album would be 3.5.
I will never tire of saying that the singer of this band represents (perhaps unconsciously) a carbon copy of Nick Holmes from Paradise Lost… both physically and vocally… I am indeed convinced that a group like this, if it slightly abandoned its overly commercial sounds, would lose a bit in terms of audience… but would definitely gain in quality… In any case, I liked this second CD much less than the first one…
Oh really? I have to admit my ignorance on this matter... it’s not a group I follow very closely... (and it shows)... Anyway, the album I’m referring to is the one containing the song "How You Remind Me," which is probably the first one...
...damn...so I made the serious mistake of taking this identity for granted...(not at all obvious, by the way...) debut album = success...but where is it written???...Well, I apologize then...anyway, I listened to this album just 2 times and then left it to gather dust on the shelf...already heard, already heard and already heard!!!!!!!!!
Damn... I started from the silly assumption that a debut album automatically brings notoriety... BUT WHERE IS THAT WRITTEN!!! Anyway, I listened to this CD once and threw it to gather dust on the shelf dedicated to oblivion... R.i.p. :-))))))))
It's a fantastic CD, the result of a growth that lasted almost 10 years... I'm not just talking about personal tastes, but as someone who's almost a competent authority on the subject and who knows many aspects that few are aware of... it's a very valid group, technically modest, and the tracks are solid and rhythmically granite-like. The lyrics fit well with the music and the pieces are well constructed. They may appeal to some or not... but criticizing them in the name of metal isn’t a reliable judgment, as it comes from people with a very limited exposure to music...
