From the series "albums from 2015 that should be listened to at least once in a lifetime".

The British trio (from Chichester, West Sussex) TRAAMS (vocals-guitar/bass/drums) churns out, after the debut "Grin" in 2013, a second compact alternative-rock album that is very direct and impactful (already at the first listen it is pure delight), with a high vitamin content.

Presented by a grey cover with a small wolf perhaps testifying to the wilder and more ferocious side of their music, "Modern Dancing" develops eleven very "nineties" tracks where the "melodic" aggression of the never banal distorted guitar and the adenoidal voice of frontman Stu Hopkins are supported by a sustained and driving rhythmic section clearly rooted in post-punk ("Succulent Thunder Anthem" above all). The title track "Modern Dancing" and the little ballad "Car Song" allow you to catch your breath between noise digressions, pop-rock gems, precise and controlled rhythm changes, post-hc attacks, kraut repetitiveness.

An album for those who need to keep the brain activity always on (or awaken), for those who live on pure rock et similia et null'altro, for those who appreciated the Scots Idlewild, the charged pieces of the early Modest Mouse, for those who never want to let their guard down (musically speaking because, damn, how many times do I have to let my guard down to avoid being overwhelmed by a TIR in full swing), perfect to arrive righteously pissed off at school/work/elsewhere.

An album that does not allow us to shout a miracle but, as good Albert(ino) Einstein said, everything that exists is already a miracle (and here I might let slip a curse and feel like engaging in a thousand discussions but I prefer to dramatically raise the volume and kick off in grand style with "Costner").
