Eternal glory was the second demo by the Italians Rhapsody who had to make two of them because with the first one (Land of immortals) they couldn't find a breakthrough in the Italian metal scene and beyond, (it's difficult to do so when trying to incorporate violin inserts, Latin choirs, and whatever else into power metal).
In this mini-CD, you find the wonderful Warrior of ice (Legendary tales), Land of immortals (Legendary tales), and Eternal glory in Symphony of enchanted lands. There is also the short instrumental Tears at nightfall, the very fast and symphonic Holy wind, Alive and pround whose beginning reminds me so much of Prowler by Iron Maiden... but aside from this, the song flows quickly and is catchy. The last song worth mentioning is Invernal fury. Let's say this was a good record for carving out a niche in metal and fans of the genre, but especially those of Rhapsody should have it.
There are two flaws in this demo: the recording (the guitars seem drowned in Nutella) and the voice, which here was not yet Fabio Lione’s but someone else's whom I can't remember now. One last thing for those who still don't know. There's an American pop group called The Rhapsody who, after nine years and six albums by the real Rhapsody, came out with copyrights and made our Italians change their name to 'Rhapsody of Fire,' and they've announced that the new album titled 'Triumph or Agony' will be released on September 25th, which I have listened to in advance, but that would be a whole different story...
