THE REVIEW

FunkyJazzyGroovy!!!! Will "Redsnapper" be the last album of the Redsnapper? Who knows?! With them, you can never tell...

After the release of "We Aim To Satisfy" in 2000 for Nuphonic (like all previous albums), they had announced their breakup, and yet with a fishy comeback, they release this CD for Lo Recordings, 7 new tracks plus 3 picked from the all-time favorites.

The minimalist design of the fully transparent case is beautiful, a white sticker with everything you need to know and nothing more, the CD is red and matte like the ones printed at home...

The first two tracks are thrilling... "Regrettable" and "Mountains and Valleys" have melodies full of cinematic charm, and... also "The Quiet One" with the double bass to listen to with your gut, and... also the last track "The Tunnel" recorded live... mmmhhh... it has such a super groove rhythm that I too end up applauding! The central tracks, however, sound to my ears perhaps a bit less engaging, more acid jazz, "cool lounge" from trendy bars during aperitif hour... ha ha... a mojito, quickly!!!
