Hello everyone. I must preface by saying that I am almost 45 years old. Why do I mention this? Because it is the age when one begins to understand things that, when you're young, slip away and are lost in the air. Today I decided to write a review of this album because I listened to it again just this morning after almost thirty years, at high volume, alone, on a short car trip. It's not just an album; it's a work of art. Try to prick up your ears to the harmonies, the background of violins and cello, Battaglia's discreet solos, and you will find the music that the new generations do not know. Sure, it may appear to many as pompous and redundant, almost excessive in its orchestral riffs. But try to imagine "Preludio" accompanied by images of dreams you wish to realize, and you'll understand... There are many epic moments, in the vein of the prog tradition that was very popular at the time. Here the suite is "Il tempo, una donna, la città": it's not on the level of "Parsifal," but it surprises with its continuous variations on the theme, and the ten-plus minutes fly by swiftly in the enchantment of the dream being told. The refined arpeggio of "Fantasia" is splendid; a light piece that induces serenity of mind.

The lyrics: never banal, highly inspired by accents, more than romantic, I would dare to say 'stilnovista'. Even an adventure on a train ("Orient-express") is recounted as a huge and devastating love disappointment. Beautiful from the textual perspective is "1966," as well as "Una storia che fa ridere," which more than a love song is an anthem to betrayed friendship.

In conclusion, this is an album that deserves to be exhumed and appreciated 33 years after its release, despite its lack of commercial success. After all, I think the Pooh knew it was a great challenge, almost as if they wanted to test themselves with a work difficult to understand immediately, but of extraordinary musical value.

The words are the true strength of the album, more than the compositions themselves.

It is an album that reflects its time to the fullest, and as such it should be considered.

"Un po' del nostro tempo migliore is an album that I would define as almost perfect."

"The most beautiful and most underrated album by the Pooh. Without a doubt."

The album is an eternal, rare, extemporaneous beauty, we can even say: magnifiable.

 Pooh are gods of Pop/Progressive.
