Born in England, Olivia Newton John is one of the most renowned artists from the other hemisphere and especially beloved in her Australia, the land that welcomed her as a child. Many remember her for her cinematic stint in "Grease", "Xanadu", and "Two Of A Kind", but Livy boasts a remarkable career as a singer, author, and composer spanning three decades with great commercial and critical success. With a vocal range of three octaves, she is a light soprano, just like her colleague Agnetha Faltstog and indeed their voices are very similar. Her discography ranges from the subdued country tones of her beginnings to the pop-rock of the '80s, the era of the worldwide success of the album "Physical" ('81).

Those who would like to cautiously approach her discography can start with "Totally Hot", released in '78 following the musical "Grease"; those who enjoy exploring beyond the usual names won't regret it because Olivia Newton John has always worked with excellent musicians who have guaranteed her great results. This work is, in fact, a good mix between country tradition with "Dancin' 'Round and 'Round" and the more appealing new pop-rock, "A Little More Love". It begins with the beautiful ride of "Please Don't Keep Me Waiting" where Olivia ends with curious vocalizations, continues with  "Talk To Me", a very pleasant pop song, and "Totally Hot", a notable lively track with soul tones. The closure with the legendary "Gimme Some Lovin'" by Steve Winwood is a perfect choice. 

Produced by John Farrar, Olivia's historic producer and author, the album features the participation of Steve Lukather and David Hungate from TOTO, who contribute significantly to the final success. "Totally Hot" is a record of great class, easy to listen to but with an interesting sound blend, with a very calibrated production that enhances the thousand nuances of the tracks and finally Olivia's crystalline voice weaves everything perfectly.
