New. More than new, Neu! was music. More than music, Neu! was an experience. An experience of depth. In the year 1972, from Germany, this epochal album emerged to the world (well, not really, considering how few people know Neu! even today).
Its sound is timeless, unplaceable, because it wasn't tied to any era, not even back then, since no one can answer this question: to what year does the unknown belong?
It's unclear why this album leads us to such depths, it's unclear why, when we are about to hit the bottom, everything vanishes and recedes, it's unclear why it distances itself, perhaps because it has no end, or perhaps because we are finite?
Follow the direction of "Hallogallo", then slowly try with your eyes to glimpse more secrets than a child could ever imagine once inside the space of "Sanderouwgebut", I know you didn't expect any of this but it's up to you to decide if, fortunately or unfortunately, it is so.
The fluid in "In Gluck" does not flow, it is being sucked in...you begin to feel more and more fear and pray that the vortex of "Negativland" does not harm you. You spin, spin, spin, ever deeper towards what you dared not want, what you dared not hope for.
Finally released from this infernal dance, a cold blackness stands before you, singing as tears would, leaving its last testimony of life until you realize again that the fluid in "In Gluck" wasn't flowing...until you can still realize it...until you are what you don't know, without knowing if you ever were.

The drumming is relentless, with minimal variations and mechanical precision, accompanied by electronic effects that create an extremely cold and synthetic sound, like Robocop hitting the drums in a pool of molten metal.
It is one of the pinnacles of krautrock and one of the most brilliant compositions in all of rock.

Like the first time you hear "Hallogallo" - the brain goes into erection, tears stream from your eyes.
A call to the darkest kraut, with hands on the breeches of the pronounced irony of electronics.

"A space-time vortex seems to open before you, you see it and feel it, it’s hypnotic in its infinite spinning."
"Before and after Neu!."

It might be revolutionary but it’s not a good album!
"Negativland", and here we can perhaps talk of a masterpiece.

It was as if they were victims of some ritual where obsessive, repeated, and incessant rhythms echoed continuously both in their actions and emotions.
Michael Rother and Klaus Dinger learned of it and decided to represent those three different “motorik beats” in their debut masterpiece.
