MOEBIUS STRIP OR KNOT:

An example of a surface that is not orientable and a ruled surface.

Ordinary surfaces always have two sides, so it is always possible to ideally travel along one of the two sides without ever reaching the second one, except by crossing a possible demarcation line constituted by an edge. Even for surfaces like the sphere or the cylinder, it is possible to conventionally establish a "top" or "bottom" side, or "inside" or "outside".

In the near future, the subways of Buenos Aires are much more gigantic to unimaginable levels.

One of the trains of the line vanishes in space and time. At the moment of this narration, the tangle of the Buenos Aires subway is a labyrinth interconnected only by the perimeter.

A convoy of 30 passengers vanishes in the closed circuit of the Buenos Aires subway system.

A young topologist leads the investigation based on some maps and technical sheets.

Initially, he is unable to find the old scientist (who was also his former teacher) who designed the intricate plot of the subway network, un

til the unexpected help of a girl facilitates the acquisition of the first clues.

At first, all efforts seem to be futile, but a random event will lead the young scholar to risk his life and end up on an improbable train, which will bring him face to face with his old teacher until the surprising final revelation....

Beyond the more or less implied socio-fantapolitical references (the passengers of the train led by the professor, metaphorically exemplified by the Argentine prisoners, abducted and lifeless, without identity and consciousness along the entire route), the film still maintains good highs and lows of tension (it may be a cliché, but watch out for the scene with the child on the roller coasters...), with an aura of mystery and suspense skillfully fueled, especially towards the final stages, where almost thrilling sequences are witnessed.

As academic as it may be in some points, "Moebius" is a cinematic experiment that has nothing to envy in terms of theoretical essay to works such as "Una pura formalità" (with much more symbolic names on paper) and once again attests to the richness, in some ways underestimated, of Latin American cinema.

en fin buena vision!...
