Objectively: great singer, great guitarist, great bassist, great drummer, great live shows, great albums (well, maybe the last ones aren't that great), they ended at the right time. Few flaws, though they might not be to everyone's taste, of course...

Michael Cimino

Unjustly pushed away from Hollywood. A masterpiece ("The Deer Hunter") and at least two great films ("Heaven's Gate" and "Year of the Dragon"). Even shamefully nominated for the Razzie Awards. Underrated.

The golden times are already gone, and the first albums are quite respectable. The last album I happened to listen to was in a friend's car on a rather long trip.. I would have liked to throw myself out..

Sam Raimi

He alternated excellent works, especially in the early part of his career (La Casa 1 & 2, L'armata delle Tenebre, Soldi Sporchi), some decent ones (Darkman and Spiderman 1 & 2), and others that were mediocre or worse (The Gift, Pronti a morire, Gioco D'amore, Spider man 3, Drag Me to Hell).
