Mayhem

It makes me smile a bit to see how easily and knowingly the most important elements of the 2nd wave are dismissed, as if it were target shooting. Very simply, groups like Mayhem have been at least fundamental for black metal. End of story. Take it or leave it. That they were shitty people and had ridiculous stories (even though personally I couldn't laugh about someone's suicide) is not my concern; I leave the gossip to those who deal with it.

Blind Guardian

A great band that rocked the scene with exceptional albums like "Somewhere Far Beyond" and "Imaginations from the Other Side"; too bad about the last two albums. By the way, their new album "At the Edge of Time" will be released at the end of July.
