The Who Live @ Arena Di Verona, 11-06-2007

I was there...and the emotion was overwhelming...the crowd singing...Pete playing divinely...the incessant rain...it's just a shame that with all the interruptions, the concert lasted barely an hour and a half!

The Chemical Brothers We Are The Night (Promo Version)
Voto:
What you say may be true, in the sense that the public (or the masses) got to know the chemical brand through surrender (more than through surrender from hey boy hey girl)... but I remember that when I bought it in the store, there was only one copy, just like the two previous ones; then with come with us, there were even about ten copies, and push the button was available on listening stations in all supermarkets... how sad! Anyway, there's no arguing about the superiority of the first two, of course, it's just that I find surrender an honest change and still inspired... it's from that point onwards that they've entered a tunnel with no way out!

The Madman is right; when "Surrender" came out in Italy, very few people knew them (...and I say this as someone who bought "Exit Planet Dust" a month after its release), meaning they only knew them for "Hey Boy Hey Girl," but they certainly had no clue what was contained in that beautiful album! As I wrote in the review of "Dig Your Own Hole," the Chemical Brothers delivered three superb albums, but then unfortunately they experienced a monstrous drop in inspiration with the next two albums, which coincidentally happened to align with their planetary success! Let's hope for "We Are the Night," but from the samples I've heard, I still can't judge, even though I'm a bit skeptical!

GREAT DISCO PHYSIOGNOMICS, BUT ALAS THE COUNTER, DISTANT WORLDS PERHAPS THEY'RE SUPERIOR!... and we're already 4 if I'm not mistaken... so you should turn that 2-3 at least into 3-4!!

It's true, ten years have passed since I went to my trusted little shop to buy it... and they had only one copy because in Italy almost nobody cared about them (those were the days when the brothers had their inspiration at its peak, releasing three masterpieces like "Exit Planet Dust," the majestic "Dig Your Own Hole," and "Surrender")... not like "Push the Button," which you could even find at rest areas and at supermarket counters! If you compare their last three albums, "Come With Us," "Push the Button," and "We Are the Night" (of which I managed to hear some snippets), it makes me want to cry!... I can't believe they won't come back... please, make some pears as big as houses and give me another "Dig Your Own Hole" or another "Surrender" in the future... I will wait!!!

The Juliana Theory Emotion Is Dead
Voto:
GREAT ALBUM! The best of Juliana along with the first one! Together with Get Up Kids, Jimmy Eat World, and Sensefield (not to be confused with Senses Fail), the best melodic emo-rock band... and fuck those assholes My Chemical Romance!!!
