How full of yourself are you with all those syllogisms about Taylor Swift, etc. But what does "they are ugly" mean? It makes sense to say "I don't like them" or "I don't appreciate the 'fake' guitars," but saying "they are ugly" is a subjective judgment, like practically the entire review. For example, 90% of Michael Jackson's songs annoy me; I find them ugly, yet he's the King of Pop... could it be that I just can't stand pop? Maybe, but I would never review a Jackson album and give it a 1.
Feeder Generation Freakshow
Voto:
Not fully in agreement with the reviewer. I waited quite a while before assessing "Generation Freakshow," which, to be fair, is a nice album, above the average of many other CDs hyped by the press, but certainly not close to a masterpiece, and in my opinion still far from an album like "Comfort In Sound" and, in terms of freshness, also distant from "Echo Park" (for those who don't know, both are albums by Feeder, the first from 2002 and the second from 2001).
There are nice songs that summarize the sounds of their early days and those of "Silent Cry" (I ignore Renegades, which I consider among the worst they've done). Good "Borders," excellent "Idaho" and "Sunrise" (which remind me a lot of "Echo Park!"), and a few scattered tracks between the debut single and little else. Nice material, but it rehashes and revisits what has been done in several previous albums. Perhaps I have not yet come to terms with the fact that Feeder can do this; they do it well, very well, but they don't go beyond, or maybe over the years (also due to a mediocre album like "Renegades"), my connection with the band has somewhat diminished. Great guys, wonderful people; not everyone plays pool with the first people they find in front of them (specifically, some of my friends who were in Milan for their live performance). What can I say, I will listen to "Generation Freakshow" again over time and I will say it’s a good album from Feeder; I’ll take 3-4 tracks and put them together with past songs, some extraordinary, and I will tell my friends: ā€œhere are the Feeder!ā€ A heartfelt good luck to the band, to its present and future, but I believe that the big part has already been done.

Overall, I've read a handful of intelligent comments, about 4 or 5. Compared to the average bullshit written without even having listened to the record; I expected worse.

Well, I mostly agree with you. They are clever and now very commercial, and in this album somewhat predictable. For me, it’s a 2+, but with some demos and the ghost track, we can bump it up to a 3-. But that's enough now. I still recommend checking out some of their demos from 1997 and 1998; you would be amazed. I’ve included a link for reference at the end of the review.
Linkin Park A Thousand Suns

It's difficult for me to comment on an album that has already been discussed so much (including my own review, which I've reconsidered in hindsight), but with Kerplunk, I feel I should say something because I've gone through your same situation. At first, I absolutely hated this album, just like I did with the previous Minutes To Midnight, and that was because my adolescence led me to associate Linkin Park with that nice 'Nu-Metal' (it would be better to talk about alt. rock mixed with hip hop). Over time, I realized that Linkin Park were not just that; they were also that. Chester started his career as a grunge singer Wake Me - Grey Daze - Recensione di Gallagher87 and the other members have always shown their interest in other musical genres. This album may not be a masterpiece, but it is a good hip hop/pop/alternative record. I also hope for a return to rock sounds, but if it doesn’t happen, I've already come to terms with it. In short, no big deal; these guys might just manage to put out a decent little record even if they turn to country (let's hope that doesn't happen). PS: 90% of the votes for the album come from listening for a maximum of 10-12 seconds while shaving or changing a pad ;)

Mediocre game, or at least it’s not for me. Between the first and the second, I haven’t played more than an hour. Let me put this 2. Enkriko has been banned.

Great album, nothing to say, although I listen to it a bit less now. Live they are really, really good, he is a powerhouse. Good band.

I didn't know about this reprint for the American market. I saw them live in Lecce last July, and I must say they are a blast. However, I still need to digest the latest The Future is Medieval; I will also address this, in due time.
