Avenged Sevenfold Hail To The King

In my opinion, you're generally too lenient with this band; they are overrated, especially because they were booed once in Italy when they opened for Iron Maiden - now those guys still ROCK - and then, I don't know, the singer has a voice that's a bit too flamboyant, and overall they don't really know how to play all that well. I don't know, and the cover just screams "too much Manowar"; if I could change my rating of the album, I would give it a -1.

Oh, you guys are strong, huh!? Well, Synth Pop is for Depeche Mode and Erasure; we await insights on other great artists of the genre. This is chart Pop, the kind that’s done poorly. Not even commercial Indie, as I’ve called it. After such considerations—including yours—OBJECTIVE ones, hit play on the media player, or do you absolutely need the 45s to avoid being too "mainstream"!?. Same old story here.

So explain to me how you give a 1 to the review. Not that I care a damn, but it contradicts the fact that you hate the album, since I’m not saying it’s the Metal album of the decade.

Nice album, in a not-so-simple genre.

Okay Taurus, amazing album...but damn, you got here a year late!!! :D Anyway, they are truly a great band, 4 albums and none, in my opinion, deserves a rating lower than 8/10.
The Killers Battle Born

In my opinion, he now thinks of himself as a sort of F. Mercury of the third millennium, trying to overdo it with the band, but they just can't pull it off. Months ago, they said this album would be a return to the past, but where? Rock? Are you kidding? It follows the same line as Day%Age, which probably offers a bit more. After 4 years, "Battle Born" really delivers very little. I find myself enjoying the bonus tracks more, which perhaps have something more to offer. For now, I’d give the album a solid 2, maybe I'll change my mind, but I doubt it. The days of Hot Fuss and Sam's Town, albums with real substance, are now light-years away.

I liked them on One-X, but then they seemed very repetitive to me. He's a good songwriter, but they need to be more original. I'm listening to the first single now, it's nice but it doesn't seem that different from the usual stuff. I'll listen to the album and evaluate.

I haven't logged into Debaser in a while. The first thing I notice is the review of Uno!. I couldn't care less about the positive rating from the reviewer or the stream of nonsense that followed. I tried looking for 2-3 songs that, based on what the review says, should be the BEST. What can I say... aside from the catchiness of a track like "kill the DJ", which, by the way, doesn't even belong to the band as it sounds like a Franz Ferdinand piece, the rest is the usual stuff, the same punk-pop mush dissected to the point of absurdity. Maybe there's something decent on this album, but I don't feel like finding out. Punk rock hasn't needed Green Day for quite some time now, and they know it; otherwise, they wouldn't have started, or rather, messed around with Indie as well. Let's make room for the youth!!!

You beat me to it! I was planning to write about this album, but since I more or less share your thoughts, there's no need to do so. I listened to a long preview, about 20 minutes, some time ago. What can I say, I didn't expect an album like this from someone like him. Overall, it’s a 'cunning' album, lots of rock/metal, at times Speed Metal, plenty of drumming, and good melodies. It’s not the easiest to digest since it offers few breaks. "Wish You Well," when played at high volume, can shake the house. I agree on "Brains," it’s a great track. Additionally, several songs have a strong Grunge vibe, reminiscent of 90s Creed. However, there's something between the vocal tracks and the guitars that feels a bit familiar; that's the only thing that doesn't fully convince me so far. Anyway, it seems like a great album; for now, I’ll 'limit' myself to a 4 out of 5, but in the future, I might agree with your 5/5, though it’s more unlikely it will lose points.
The Offspring Days Go By

I don't really like how the review is written. As for them, I've been following them for a long time, like for 15 years, the last Rise and Fall wasn't bad and I believe this Days Gone By is very similar in style. Years go by, even for them, so I’m not surprised by slower pieces alternating with more upbeat tracks. I’ll listen to it soon.
