I was supposed to be there at the I-day last year before they broke up, damn it...

"The Oasis are the band that, in my opinion, comes closest to them in terms of innate ability to create beautiful melodies, and they were the only ones to have created in England a movement similar to Beatlemania." Just this sentence is worth my vote for the review.

I'm more or less in agreement about Beatles maniacs. This collection is indeed pointless, as it gathers different periods of their career that are very dissimilar from each other. As for pop icon, I'm not sure; to me, pop is neither "Wonderwall" nor "Go Let It Out." As for you, poor fool, I couldn't even begin to express myself.

Classic example of ANTI-ANTI CONFORMISM. What others like because it’s different shouldn’t please me because I have to be different from the different. Then you end up being like everyone else. I thank Teenagelbotomy for the tip on reading this review; at this point, I won’t even look at the ones on Nirvana, since they were “sputtanatamente anti-conformisti,” I already know what you’ll have written about it.

@fedezan76: trying to be as objective as possible, comparing Starsailor and especially Travis to Oasis seems really exaggerated to me; the same Travis in "Writing To Reach You" casually ride the notes of "Wonderwall," and I'll stop here. However, the bands you mentioned (I would also add Stereophonics) perhaps have an even stronger Brit influence, but I still think that in recent years, the movement has had Noel Gallagher as its STRA-MAIN protagonist.

"We didn't feel the need for it" is too beautiful, really! This is 'collective consciousness'.

@Rorix: you are right that Alice In Chains was a great band, but we are talking about two totally different things! Comparing "Facelift" to "Definitely Maybe" doesn’t make much sense, it’s like saying: I prefer a nice shirt to a plate of baked pasta! You can compare AIC to Soundgarden and tell me who you think is better, or Oasis to Blur (even if in my opinion, here too...)

I know the band, and I don't think "Colors" is a sad piece; your 'career' on Debaser didn't start off too badly. @Interceptorgay: in my opinion, post-grunge has existed for more than ten years now, with many albums influenced (or copied!?) by various Alice In Chains, Soundgarden, Nirvana, and so on. It can be liked or disliked, that's another matter...
