I even ended up buying this album, which I consider the worst of the three; I'll give a rating to the album when I've had some time to reflect. I confirm, this band is destined to dominate over time.

Thank you, Zannab! I posted two or three links in the review just to give an idea to those who, like you, might be skeptical about the album. Of course, you might like it or totally hate it, as they say, "de gustibus"! Cheers!

Great rock disc, with a bit of prog, I would add. A review that feels a bit intense, mostly truthful, although in the long run, I believe albums like "black album" and "load" are proof that the 4 horsemen were not just a great metal band, but a band that made music in general (and also money ;) ) an absolute priority, regardless of genre. PS: I like St. Anger.

Great album, more complex and less commercial than "Hot Fuss," "Bling (Confessions of a King)," "When You Were Young," and "Read My Mind" are sublime; it's a shame that the third album takes a somewhat empty pop turn. For me, it's an 8+.

Almost 4 years later, I made myself listen to this album again, and unlike my initial rating of 2, I now symbolically balance it with a 5, with an average of 3.5 that gets the point across—fresh and lively, really not bad at all. I will listen to the next album, but Ruby is Ruby!

As if it were necessary to invent something new... this is a great album, I confirm that it's not easy to find a debut album at this level. Nowadays, they are mostly trash, or almost.

I'm not really a fan of the genre, but they have never convinced me...

I agree that Come What(ever)may is better, and I agree there are some nice tracks, but I confirm that it’s nothing exceptional, except for the first tracks and the big single Say You'll Haunt Me, really awesome in my opinion ;)
