Opeth Lamentations
Voto:
The band: it has officially changed. Martin Lopez had health issues and ongoing panic attacks, so he decided to leave. The new drummer is Martin Axenrot; I saw him at the GoM and he wasn't bad. Of course, Lopez had his own unique style; we’ll have to see how he performs in the studio. By the way, the recorded concert was one of Lopez's last (and he was pretty nervous).
Rhapsody Symphony Of Enchanted Lands

I can't imagine that a masterpiece could begin with the words "EPICO FURORE."
Rhapsody Rain Of A Thousand Flames

Sorry, I just watched the video of Rain of a Thousand Flames. Putting aside the tacky theatricality that emerges both from the video and the music, I honestly just don't understand the emotions conveyed by the lavish battles with swords and magic. There are bands that have managed to maintain a feeling that's let's say "gothic," or perhaps it's better to say "medieval," but here we veer into folk. For me, Rhapsody are exactly like Gamma Ray: rearrangements based on excellent individual technique and melodies straight out of a cartoon opening (and I'm not joking).
Minsk Out Of A Center Which Is Neither Dead Or Alive

The apocalyptic side of post-metal, devastating. Spectacular review, the best I've read so far on DB.
Cult Of Luna Salvation

In the same year, Panopticon and this disc came out. Damn. The review is nice, even though it’s a bit lacking in emotional depth, at least for my tastes. But then, de cazzibus. I’m finishing listening to the album now for the first time, and it has given me terrifying feelings.
Deicide The Stench Of Redemption
Voto:
I haven't listened to the album, but I'm not very interested. I only have the self-titled Deicide album, which is definitely worthy but also quite ugly. I saw the video for a song from the new album. The video is way too stupid, and the song is, let's say, average. What struck me is that the solos, both for the phrasing and the rhythm, would have fit well in the hands of a power-metal band, which made me think.

The definitive album
Impaled Northern Moonforest Impaled Northen Moonforest

Let me explain, fabblu: this review is short and silly because the album in question is, undeniably, short and silly.
