I’ll also add that I would even work overtime (for free) just to beat him up properly. An authentic asshole. I give it a 1 for default.

one of the most beautiful days of my life.... every time I put the bootleg back in the player, I get chills down my spine. I don't think I'll ever see a concert at this level again. not in this life..

THE ALBUM of the new millennium… period! It will be hard for anyone to do better in the next 996 years. Reflection is the very essence of music, understood as an art form free of constraints and free to explore. The rhythm section works miracles just as much as ever. Maynard is immense. If they gift us an album by the end of 2004, I’ll be here (but even after, for that matter... he he)

Here, Savatage... this is one of those bands I've always promised myself to check out, but they've remained there instead. It's true that it's never too late, but by now it's a genre I don't follow much anymore. Anyway, they probably really deserve it.

x attilio: there’s no need for any 'pleasure', no worries. I consider the matter absolutely closed; I got a little carried away myself, as they say in these cases. no problem
x downtown: I’m not an 'expert musician'; in fact, as I wrote, I’m a DIY guitarist. The expert musicians are others; I’m just a big music enthusiast.

Dream Theater Metropolis Pt. 2: Scenes From a Memory

... certainly, everyone is free to do as they please, anyway. On one thing the sulky kid is right: I am not a drummer. I’ve been playing the guitar for 15 years, as a perfect self-taught, and with all the limitations that entails. But I can understand the difference between a Petrucci or a Pete Townshend (very different from each other, mind you) and any robert smith, even without having studied music at the conservatory.
I don’t know what easy(de)c(occio) has listened to, but I grew up listening to Keith Moon and Bruford, Ian Paice and Chester Thompson, Manu Katche, right up to the various Nicko McBrain, William Calhoun, Martin Lopez, etc. etc., and blah blah blah of the present day (not to mention the much-criticized Portnoy who annoys our friend). So frankly, even having played in a band that I literally adore, I struggle to get excited about Irons. That's all. And if for this I have to take insults from the first kid who thinks he is qualified to preach because he plays the drums, so be it. Contrary to what easyc thinks, trying to be funny in front of others doesn’t bother me at all, as they say in Rome. With all due respect to him. So, you can take your sticks and shove them up your ass, my dear and upset easy.
As for Attilio, he has definitely proven to be less touchy (and smarter) and reacted with style… obviously, he understood the tone of my intervention.
p.s. I’ve been quite long-winded, I promise it won’t happen again. In fact, from my side, I’ll end the debate and comments on this review here. To be honest, I've gotten a bit fed up.. Amen.

I say it, or I don’t say it... okay, I say it and fuck it.
Dear Jesus… you see the problem is just one: our dear friend is a poor thing. And not because he slams the DT (far from it) or because he thinks Irons is an exemplary drummer (even though it’s quite symptomatic of the fact that he understands very little about drums, despite having played them for years as he claims). He’s a poor thing because ever since my first post – where I started by trashing his review, it’s true, but without ever resorting to personal insults – he immediately responded by calling me a brain-damaged person, and now, not satisfied, also a jerk. Someone who, not knowing what to do, decides to write a review just to vomit insults about a band and its music, I consider a pathetic loser, a poor thing. Of course, it’s easy; I could do it too, starting off strong and insulting the bands that annoy me the most, starting with Oasis and down... but I find it frankly a bit silly, and above all childish. Now, I want to hope that our friend who has been playing drums for 7 years is only a few years older. Because otherwise, it would really be sad. I too, at 18, would vomit shit on everything that wasn’t hard and heavy, but those times have passed for a while. So I try to have fun in a bit more of an ‘adult’ way, and if I want to review something, I do it not for the sake of trashing, but for the pleasure of speaking well about something that communicates emotions to me.

Holy moly, what a review! Splendid, by far the most touching, heartbreaking, and engaging one I've ever come across. 5 stars because that's all you can give, but it would be worth double. And this comes from someone who has never really liked the Doors (or almost). Sincere compliments!

Nice review Gabry, my compliments. By the way.. the review of the album is even nicer. Actually, no.. it's just that....
to be honest, I disagree not on the fact that Tommy is a great album (it is, indeed) but rather on the conclusion: for me, their unmatched masterpiece remains Quadrophenia (maybe if inspiration strikes me, I'll try to review it). Compared to Tommy, it still sounds incredibly relevant today. But these are minor details, and anyway, this is only my very humble opinion.
