The poor guy is no longer around? Good… we can go back to talking about Music and this album then; in my opinion, THE masterpiece of Faber (alongside the very different but equally valid Non al denaro, non all'amore ne al cielo). A unique, deeply personal, and huge regret: never having seen him live :-( After that, we can also discuss the rest if we want (preferably with civil people, arguing with fools doesn’t make much sense...).

Immense. There's nothing more to add (except perhaps that this is my favorite album by Faber, along with Creuza de mà). The review is very beautiful as well, by the way.. reviewing De André is never an easy task, and there's a risk of trivializing his timeless masterpieces. Well done!

by far the worst (or least enjoyable, if you prefer) work of the Marillion Fish era, imho... I would define it as a cd for 'completionists' and absolute fans of the band.

one of the most disappointing concerts I've seen in a while... I never thought it possible, but here we are. And Maynard can go fuck himself, next time (by the way, a staggering disappointment from a purely vocal point of view... acceptable for repeats from Mr. Eddie Vedder, and then he comes back...)

In my opinion, this is a record without flair or substance. The Accept albums that absolutely must be had are the following: Breaker, Restless and Wild, and Balls to the Wall. The rest is just a tip. Great nonetheless! They made quite a stir in the hard metal scene in the '80s.

Great album, although not my favorite (which remains IV) but certainly very beautiful. A complete artist, that's true. Among the greatest of all time, alongside Tom Waits and a few others.

A genius's album. Then who knows what happened to him... but at just 18 years old, to make an album like this.... what the hell!!!

What to say... I've just (uhm...) purchased the album... therefore, I won't go too far beyond saying that the first impression was definitely good (even if not transcendent, but I would have been surprised otherwise, knowing my slow warming up to a record). But I was particularly pleased to see that the good Steve Wilson of Porcupine Tree fame is among the credits (being PT one of my favorite bands currently, and for the past few years). This was probably the reason that made me lean towards this album instead of, perhaps, Brave, which I also hear mostly excellent opinions about. Good review (even if the idea that echoes of Coldplay might appear makes me a little anxious...)
Keep in mind that for me, the belief that Marillion had ended with Fish's departure remained intact until not very long ago. But the great reviews I've heard about how good they were even with Hogarth on vocals eventually took over; and the curiosity to listen again to what in the distant 80s was one of my favorite bands did the rest...
Judas Priest Angel Of Retribution

let's be honest... beyond the affection one might feel for them, the respect (due) for their great past, this album is a desolate flatness. Aside from Judas Rising, there’s nothing that stays with you, nothing that stirs any kind of emotion. AOR is as flat as flat can be (not to mention it’s genuine garbage) is all the Priest production from ’90 to today (with the remarkable exception of Painkiller, of course). They, like Maiden, have been finished for a long, long time... it’s understandable and physiological after years and years of honorable career. They just need to stop now...

Alright, I’d say you’ve pretty much convinced me... 🙂 I also believe they won’t make albums at the level of Lightbulb Sun or Signify anymore, but they still remain a good step above the average of what’s out there today. However, if you liked AND, you absolutely have to get Judgement and A Fine Day To Exit by Anathema! (I’ve also written a review of the latter here on Debaser, if you’re interested...) Trust me, they are two fantastic albums.
