I'm sorry, but for you, in 2000, aren't the same situations being relived as back then? The underground is still alive, and, in my opinion, Ted is quite a lucid example of that (or at least he was with his previous singles that I find AMAZING, especially considering he composed them at just 16 years old)... not to mention his fluidity in freestyle!!! At first glance, he might seem like just another one of many, but listening to his lyrics (I’m always referring to those composed before this mixtape) I can't put him on the same level. Many rappers even today experience the same situations as their predecessors in the 80s, and even a pathetic 50 Cent has certainly come further than any of us starting from nothing (even if through illegal means), so he also has the right to talk about it in his lyrics.
