In Flames Sounds Of A Playground Fading

I will never forget their no-show at the Evolution Festival 2008: 40 euros for a ticket just for them as headliners and a couple of songs from Pain Of Salvation. As Opeth finish playing, it starts hailing as big as Jabulani soccer balls. A bit like in Misfits, but without superpowers. In Flames don't play, they don't even show up on stage, but they offer a six-euro discount to ticket holders for the next concert in Italy. Too bad, I had already eaten, digested, and defecated mine.

It must be my problem, but this one and the next one that was recently released only inspire in me a great nostalgia for the early albums.

This 2011 is really disappointing me regarding the more or less extreme metal scene: a depressing "Fallen," a "The Great Mass" that didn’t convince me at all, a "Passion" from Anaal Nathrakh that is a joke (I hope I listened to a fake, yes). I gave this a very superficial listen and it doesn’t seem particularly inspired to me. I need new music, Hell. I need something vaguely summery but not too much, something "post" but also a bit "space," a bit like Explosions in the Sky but without all that romanticism. Help me find the light!
P.S. From the Swiss metal scene, I would mention, regarding more recent projects, Paysage d'Hiver. Fascinating.
