I give you 5. But on principle.

This album just makes me want to listen to "Stormblast" again. Those were the good times: the delicate keyboards of "Alt Lys Er Svunnet Hen," the stormy darkness of the title track, the majesty of "Broderskapets Ring." It’s all been thrown down the drain. This sounds like symphonic death metal thrown together a bit haphazardly. I went to see them on October 14: it's obvious that live certain songs from this album are more impactful. But these aren’t the real Dimmu Borgir. How nostalgic, how sad. As for the discussion about Gorgoroth, I highly recommend "Under The Sign Of Hell" and "Ad Majorem Sathanas Gloriam" (also because they are the only two works I own from them): truly excellent, with outstanding peaks ("Funeral Procession" in the first and "The Sign Of An Open Eye" in the second).

Ahahahahah are there any Aes Dana from Palermo? Ahahahahahahah. Pure Sicilian Celtic Black. No, of course, I'm talking about the French ones.

Wait a moment: the bands you mentioned don't fall under Celtic, which is really a separate branch compared to the viking/folk bands you named. I don't know Otyg, but it's true, Lumsk and Storm use clean vocals (and what vocals they are). Do Isis play metal? I have no idea. I thought they were a post-rock band.

Hi Ole, it's been a while since we last spoke.. How are you? Anyway, check out these Celtic Black groups that primarily sing in growl, alternating it as the reviewer rightly points out with the always praiseworthy scream. Clean vocals, not really ever, and more growl than scream. If you want to delve deeper, listen to Aes Dana, who I think are currently the leading exponents of the genre. Best regards.

I had heard that they had gone daft and turned to punk, but they were never my favorite band. Fenriz is now wasted in Darkthrone; I would really like to see a return of his other projects like Isengard and Storm.

I listened to it once but I absolutely don't remember it, maybe it didn't impress me much. If you like the genre, Aes Dana are a must. Decent review.
