Dear Debaser editorial team, I apologize, but could you fix something? Perhaps I made a bit of a mess, anyway: 1) italicize the phrase "il sentimento delle cose e che, se abbiamo pazienza, loro sono sempre pronte a reinsegnarci lo stupore" as it's a semi-quote; 2) right after this sentence, could you insert two line breaks (essentially a new paragraph)? 3) And since we’re at it, could you remove the double line break at the end, before "facile che mi sarei dimenticato..."? The discussion continued there; it wasn't the end of a paragraph. I apologize for the hassle; it was probably my fault. :D ps: I’m not sure if this is the actual way to contact the editorial team... who knows...

The Schisma have been a painful and beautiful spell, especially for those like me who arrived too late. One of the most emotional records I have.

Anyway, I don't understand the bitterness. I don't think I've been particularly offensive; I've tried to be analytical and calm, and I've even said that I like some things about the hip-hop microverse a lot. I can't stand the mythology of the street, the machismo, and the combative/aggressive function, that's all. Leaving those things aside, de-gender (not gender, for heaven's sake) can absolutely work. I hope I've made myself clear.

1) Old refrain, but if we play with words we won't get out of it, since the concept of gender is already quite shaky. 2-4-5) It depends on the meaning of passionate. What is a passionate person? 6) This seems to me a bit presumptuous. The Violent Femmes are adolescent and I wouldn't really call them indecent. 7) At this point, I'm afraid I have to repeat myself: what do you mean by adolescent? Anger is the most adolescent feeling there is, anyway. 8) I grant you that, but I still haven't claimed that all metal is technical. I was only referring to that specific branch. 9) Very true, but I meant to say that the popular conception of rock goes through Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, and the Rolling Stones. And while that conception is at least somewhat inaccurate, it still includes cornerstones even for "enthusiasts." The popular conception of rap goes, at best, through gangsta rap. The difference is right there. I know that there are very valid things out there, but the niche image and the less niche image (without even reaching, say, MTV) are separated by a huge gap. It would be interesting to understand why. Clear, like this? 10) Curious, excuse me, but did I maybe say that I adooooore rock and that you offend me if you touch it? Because this is the second time it's come up. Anyway, I have no objections to point 10. 11) Not being Berlusconi, I haven't mentioned even a single percentage. 11bis) Not liking clichés is indeed quite fashionable. I don't like them either, which makes me irresistibly fashionable. 12) I generally detest them.

ZiOn, I absolutely did not intend to "label" anything. And I’m certainly not a rock purist; on the contrary, I find contaminations extremely fruitful. What I mean is that what you call "mature hip hop" is certainly commendable (I gave the example of Dalek), but, how can I put it, what the vast majority of hip hop enthusiasts adore is pure adolescent stuff. Gangsta rap and blah blah. Like in everything, those who excel are the ones who break free from certain easy rules and very rigid conventions. I mean, genres are like instruments; they are neutral. I know well that there’s a significant gap between Elvis Costello and Britney Spears, even though both can be categorized as pop. And in metal, aside from that strategic rubbish, there are also the Tool. Unfortunately, the hip-hop universe produces a lot of crap, and so does metal. Praise to those who, as musicians, pull themselves out of it and to those who, as fans, find diamonds amidst the dirt.

Marcetto's comment is the confirmation of my thesis: music for aggressive teenagers.

Analytical review but too long and repetitive. Mondo Marcio is the stereotype of the average rapper. Difficult childhood, street life, iosonopiùbravaditeetifaccioilculo, blabla.
I wonder when all this will become what it should be: food for sociologists.
That it is a concept of music that is at least rudimentary is evident from the meter with which these vulgar types are considered: one is better as long as they make difficult rhymes.
Which would be like saying that Marino is better than Montale.
This crazy technocracy unites (hey!) a certain metal with hip-hop. And it’s no coincidence that both are predominantly teenage genres. Then one day you wake up and realize that if someone throws in a half-hour solo and/or creates the wonderful rhyme exceeding frusta-proust, they can still comfortably remain a mediocre musician.
The interesting hip-hop, and I say this as a refractor, is elsewhere: in Italy, around the Amari or the Uichi Toki, abroad among the wonderful Dalek.

Whether it's overly nice, fake-patriotic, and bigoted, it's not really a thought-out idea, you know...
