DragonForce Sonic Firestorm

Let's start from the assumption that it's hard for a power metal group to catch my attention (although I have to admit I loved the two Keeper albums by Helloween), but Dragonforce has sparked a bit of interest since listening to one of their CDs (and seeing them live) feels like listening to a vinyl record of any power metal band at double speed. So, between a giggle and a raised eyebrow, the album ends up eliciting the usual phrase you say when you listen to a "meh" record, namely, "It's nice, I'll give it another listen when I have a minute." Of course, this intention is rarely kept.
Motörhead Bastards

Poor reviews, Motorhead are still Motorhead, with all the pros and cons one might expect. On this particular album, there are a couple of really catchy tracks like "Death or Glory" and "Born to Raise Hell" (if I remember correctly, there should be a version featuring Ice T and Whitfield Crane on vocals alongside the legendary Lemmy). I must say that "Don't Let Daddy Kiss Me" has always brought a smile to my face, because hearing Lemmy sing (or perhaps mumble) over an acoustic backing while uttering a line like the title has always made me laugh.
Strapping Young Lad City

Fundamental album, the extreme culmination of HevyDevy's genius. A bit of a poor reception. I have always considered them an even more aggressive version of Fear Factory.

After Mandilyon, it's my favorite. Fantastic review for a fantastic album. Anneke is one of the few women who can excite and move me.

Long review, but very good. I don't know the album (so I won't rate it), but I might be interested thanks to the review. Do they remind you of any band?
The Berzerker World Of Lies

I believe that one cannot give a score of 4 to an album described as "not an absolute masterpiece but also not an album to discard"; on a rating scale from 1 to 5, that's simply not possible.

@ Dreamwarrior: you're not wrong, Dan Huff produced "Cryptic Writings" by Megadeth... and to be honest, he didn't do a great job.
A rather anonymous record, I don't know the CD.

Great reception and an amazing band, a notch above the other AtTheDrivein Spartas. As soon as possible, I will listen to this CD. "De-Loused In The Comatorium" had stunned and fascinated me, then just when I was returning to planet Earth, "Frances the Mute" came along and I took off again for new and fascinating planets to discover... on the way back, it was time for "Scabdates," and that was the moment I realized there would be no turning back, but an eternal journey towards infinity.
Awesome.
