The record holder was (perhaps still is) Gene Simmons, who claimed 10,000 women.... Famous is the response Gene gave to Nikki Sixx when asked, "But why don't you drink or do drugs?" The blunt answer was "I have sex, and that's it!"
Defiance Void Terra Firma

Second-tier band. But we're talking about Esquivel from Skinlab, a clone band of Machine Head.
Edge of Sanity Purgatory Afterglow
Voto:
Great album, on par with Crimson. Honestly, I listen to Purgatory more often for its greater accessibility compared to Crimson. In my opinion, from a certain perspective, they can be seen as precursors. I agree with Bartleboom's assessment of the Black Tears video: something scandalous.

Errata corrige: if one of the three discs is a cover, then it is obviously not "composed" and therefore the discs composed after The Silent Circus are 2.

Since 2003, I’ve been trying to fully understand an album like The Silent Circus, and I don’t think I’ve quite managed to do so yet. In the meantime, BTBAM have managed to compose another 3 albums (including the cover CD). I really struggle to keep up with them. However, I did give the album in question a listen, and all things considered, I found it to be more "accessible" (as far as a BTBAM album can be) compared to the previous two.
Sodom Tapping The Vein
Voto:
Down with German thrash. The German triad Kreator (the only ones worth saving), Sodom, and Destruction have really gotten on my nerves; they can't even be compared to the American scene. Testament and Anthrax (just to name a couple) are truly from another planet.
ALAS Absolute Purity

All in all, I think it deserves an extra star. Erik Rutan delivers a crystal-clear performance on this album, characterized by excellent technique and feeling.
Benediction Dark Is The Season

Good review, I don't know the EP, but I've never considered Benediction a four-star band. I saw them live supporting Death (last tour 1998) and I have to say they seemed inaccurate and lacking in dynamics (if I remember correctly, at that show there was the new singer who had replaced Dave Ingram).
Decomposed Hope Finally Died
Voto:
I’m not familiar with the album (and it seems I’m not the only one). I have to say that I don't usually include bands like Benediction in the Death Doom category, but rather the early whispers of the English Gloomy scene (MDB, Paradise Lost, etc.). Great review.

Inferior to Cross the Styx, which I consider their masterpiece, but I have always seen them as a second-tier band. They have always reminded me of Benediction and a bit of Bolt Thrower. The review is excellent, as usual (apart from the criticism toward Left Hand Path).
