Iced Earth The Glorious Burden
Voto:
I've never understood the success of Iced Earth. At first, there was Schaffer's unlistenable voice, and then came M. Barlow with a beautiful voice (even if live, it's not like he's exactly phenomenal), but trapped in the too-tight confines of the music. Then there was Ripper, who is phenomenal (everywhere, in the studio and live), but even with him, there hasn't been any truly interesting album as a whole.
Well, if I had to choose one, I’d say Something Wicked, which I still never listen to.
Cannibal Corpse Red Before Black
Voto:
I am inexorably aging! I no longer have much desire to listen to their news. The always passionate review, I won’t rate the album. I'm going back to listening to Burnt By The Sun. A hug.
Black Label Society Grimmest Hits
Voto:
Seen live in 1998 (or maybe 1999) at the Dynamo without knowing he had formed his own band... they were a monolith!
I lost track of them after The Blessed Hellride since they kept "saying" the same thing in their albums.
He's a fantastic guitarist, but if I want to hear him at his best, I have to replay the albums with Ozzy. Better at playing than at writing, in my opinion!
Arch Enemy Stigmata
Voto:
The first three Arch Enemy albums are fantastic, but then when Michael discovered women, everything went to hell. Black Earth was a bit rougher than this. I've always considered Stigmata to be a transitional album, necessary to get to Burning Bridges. What has always stood out is the melodic flair of the Amott brothers, who, in an extreme context (extreme but not too much), insert solos that are rooted in the '80s.
Stratovarius Eternal
Voto:
I've never been a fan of power metal. However, it's undeniable that Stratovarius were, at the time, a step above the others. That said, they've never been as likable as Helloween and have never managed to construct pieces as intricate as the pumpkins from Hamburg. I’ll also add that Malmsteen did these things better and without going hard on it (to be Malmsteen😅).
Anathema A Sort of Homecoming
Voto:
One of the few bands in whose discography I can never decide which album is my favorite. A group that could potentially appeal to the entire world, if only it weren't so lazy and slothful... but perhaps it's better this way.
Callisto Providence
Voto:
It's been a while since I listened to them, and you've made me want to again. I remember that after listening to this, I recovered both true nature unfolds and noir, but Providence remained my favorite. I hear little sludge, more post-metal... so close to Neurosis and yet so far. I'll toss out another name that I remember struck me during that time: Burst. I don’t know, and now also Breach (who are less related).
Morbid Angel Kingdoms Disdained
Voto:
Lost sight of them after Domination... listened to just a few tracks from the Tucker era. Having read the reviews of the previous one, I didn't even dare to look for something on YouTube. Now I'm thinking about it and I'll decide whether to lend an ear to this... but I admit I have a strong bias!
Jovanotti Oh, Vita!

I keep wondering why Rick Rubin said "Yes?!?!?"
I don't think he needs the money!
