this is authentic English pop rock for better or for worse.. personally, at 14, I liked them a lot.. now I never listen to them again but I don’t spit on the plate where I’ve eaten.. with the first two albums, they played their part in the rock world, they were children of their particular time, I mean especially "socially," they represented it in certain ways.. judgments can’t only be about the quality of a sound or songwriting.. it’s definitely not the best pop album of the century!!!!!!!

"Vere" if you mean sung... they're a dozen short (around 3 minutes each) instrumental songs featuring different guitars and it's definitely more accessible.

I also really like his shorter pieces, but there are more things like that around, you see Leo Kottke and company who are also more "fun"... what struck me was Fahey's more spiritual side.

It depends on Festwca, because this and "Fare Forward Voyagers" are the most "spiritual," complex albums with long compositions. To start, you could listen to "The Transfiguration Of Blind Joe Death," which has shorter songs and maybe flows a bit more "light" and traditional.
