Dear JohanneSulver, I appreciate your effort to defend Mustaine and his (now harmless) creation, but you can't give this album a 5. What would you rate the first 4/5 ALBUMS then? The songs are objectively and clearly inferior to those produced until '96. To put it one way, "Youthanasia" is a masterpiece compared to this!!

A record that sounds too forced, recycling solos and ideas taken from previous Megadeth albums, without obviously achieving the same effect. Then the boasts like "our best album since..." are such an old trick that even the Gallagher brothers don't use it anymore (every new release was their best since "Definitely Maybe"). Mustaine should realize that at some point it’s better to step back gracefully than to continue with a band without soul. I can already imagine their future concerts where no one cares about the new songs and everyone is anxiously waiting for the usual crowd-pleasers. Muy triste...

Perfect review as usual, and how nice to see that queer Morrison, that faggot Caz, and that gay Rocky on the same page. By the way, I thank him too for all the recommendations of unknown bands that I've had the chance to explore afterward, you’ve (almost) opened up a world for me.. Mmmm.. the impression I have is that, precisely because the Ancestors have been quite hyped, you set off a bit biased. It’s true that there’s a lack of genius touch, but I see nothing wrong with a band that surely isn’t breaking their backs to find the most original solution. Psychedelia is also this.. repetition, obsession, perdition, and redemption. :)) Anyway, it’s one of those CDs that I blast at maximum volume in the car, especially in the second part of "Orcus Avarice".. and the speakers really take a hit, oh yes they do. The rating for the album is 3.5 but I’ll round it up.
