Geenoo, do you really think I don't remember? The aforementioned Michela that year went from the most mainstream Italian pop music blaring in the TDK D90 cassettes of my car radio, to much more alternative bands that you and your gang of stoners loved to brag about just to throw shade at me and my orange Ritmo. I only remember spending my evenings listening to "Bella Stronza" and thinking of the two of you, having a blast at my expense. Years later, it’s still a wound that burns.. Mauro Repetto Will Have His Revenge On Seattle, someone used to say.

Well...when they put it in his mouth, he certainly didn't speak.
Miles Davis At Newport 1958

Beautiful! I'm not crazy about bebop either, and in fact I've listened to this CD only a few times because it doesn't capture me that much... I give it a 3.5 rounded up. These days I'm also enjoying another live album by Davis, "Live At The Blackhawk" from 1961 (quadruple CD edition)... stunning! Also because I don't think Mr. Davis has ever made a bad record.

@DJmushroom: it's fine to be extreme, but you can't just dismiss ALL "El Diablo" and "Terremoto," come on! It's definitely different music compared to what they made in the beginning, surely more commercial both in terms of lyrics and melodies, but the essence was still there. I don't see any songs around today like: "Il Volo," "Siamo Umani," "Gioconda," "Woda Woda," "Prima Guardia," "Dimmi Il Nome," etc. Plus, as I've already mentioned, I have a whole bunch of childhood memories tied to that time...

For sentimental reasons, I’m more connected to "El Diablo" and "Terremoto," since I experienced them firsthand, but this is really a solid 4.5 album. I really like "Peste," a minor track that no one ever mentions. As for their reunion, I couldn’t care less if they did it for money or not (though judging by the records they sold in the '90s, I’d say they must have saved a few coins, right?). I saw them live in Rome a few weeks ago, what can I say: 2 hours and 20 minutes of pure intensity, an incredible setlist, Pelù in great shape both physically and vocally, Ghigo with his guitar resting on his belly, but still managing to pull out that unique sound only he has... so for me, WELCOME BACK LITFIBA. In the current Italian scene, I'd rather have reheated leftovers than pre-cooked meals. At least they have their own personality, and Pelù remains a true stage beast.

It's true that the review might not be as smooth as many of your previous ones, but it's still above average, for sure! Question (of the bullshit kind): do you think the 4 Hero are still relevant, or have they aged a bit poorly in terms of sound? And especially, can anyone tell me what "The Kings of Drum + Bass" is like?

Honestly, "Jerusalem" by Sleep doesn't blow me away; it's really too pachydermal, and in the end, it's not like the ideas are abundant, huh.. I'm afraid to approach "Eve" just to avoid being disappointed.

Have you ever tried taking heroin away from Courtney Love and leaving her for a couple of hours at the Idroscalo?

A must-have record on vinyl (and indeed I have it), precisely because it is divided into two parts, and the second is a crazy journey along the banks of the Ganges. I agree that aside from "Kaleidoscope," the other works don't stand the test of time, but this one is worth it!
