I was at the concert in Rome too, and I have to say that despite my expectations not being very high, perhaps out of fear of being disappointed, they surprised me with the energy they managed to bring out after 10 years of absence. On this double CD, the production is excellent, the sound is beautifully pumped up, and Pelù's voice comes through great. The versions of "Dio" and "Tex/Ferito" are spectacular, and the two new tracks are, all in all, acceptable. Rating 3.5 rounded up to 4.

Geeno, but who is being serious here? It seems to me that you've gotten hung up on my personal opinion.. Come on, it's not like anyone gives a damn about our views on nostalgia. I only expressed my opinion just as you expressed yours. Do you really think we should debate whether nostalgia is a beautiful, ugly, noble, less noble feeling, etc.? Are we on Pomeriggio 5?? In the end, no one needs to convince anyone. Best regards.

There’s nothing wrong with Geeno, it’s just that in certain situations, comparing with the past can feel too heavy; not everyone enjoys the "ah, those were the good times" effect. For you, it might be a noble feeling, but for others, it’s not, that’s all.

Very nice review, but this album has too much of a nostalgia effect (including the singer's voice, which is really similar to Shannon's), and many fans don't like this.

@Teenagelobotomy: "Anyway, at least this album isn't having much success.." But it hasn't even been released yet??!! Or did Maurizio Mosca leave you his pendulum as an inheritance? :) Anyway, when he sang "Live With Me" with the Stones for the movie "Shine A Light," I liked it, and who knows if old Mick... no no he can't do it, that one flips him over like an hourglass!

More than a trend, at the Megadeth concert they were doing it to protest, I believe; otherwise, it wouldn’t make sense to throw little bottles at your idols with the risk (as happened later) of the concert being interrupted! At the Sex Pistols concert, it makes sense that they threw bottles at them; in fact, they might as well have spat at them, as was customary at "real" punk concerts! Of course, for Megadeth, going from 12,000 attendees 15 years ago to about 3,000 a few days ago is a shame because they still hold up on stage.

@GEB: I was there. April 10, 1995: it was the "Youthanasia" tour, ticket price: 41,000 lire, which for the time was really a lot, I swear! Mustaine came on stage looking really fed up, practically didn’t want to play, and sang in a really half-hearted way, bordering on decency. The most hardcore fans in the front rows (the "true metallers" :)) started throwing bottles at him, and Mustaine warned that if they didn’t stop, he would end the concert. Next song: same story, during a solo Mustaine got hit in the forehead by a bottle (empty, obviously), finished the song, told everyone to f*** off, and ended the concert. The lights came on after barely three-quarters of an hour of performance. And I who had been waiting for that concert for so long...

I've been listening to the album these days, and I have to say that for now it's giving me the same impression that "Shangri La Dee Da" did 9 years ago: catchy tunes crafted in a studio, but that leave nothing even after repeated listens. I hope I'm wrong, but for now, that's how it is. Although I've always found the De Leo brothers very likeable, this reunion reeks a bit too much of a red bank account, and I wouldn't want inspiration to have gone the same way as the money...vanished. To date, the only STP CD I'm revisiting is "Tiny Music..Songs From The Vatican Gift Shop," delightfully poppy, but with taste!
