Beastie Boys Hot Sauce Committee Part Two

In fact, both the cover and the internal artwork aren't that great in my opinion. I've never been a fan of theirs (except for Paul's Boutique) and I've never understood all the hype surrounding every release of theirs, like in '98 with "Hello Nasty" featuring that old crap "Body Movin," but whatever... This, on the other hand, I must say I’m enjoying quite a bit and it's easy to listen to from start to finish. Nothing new, worn-out metrics, but in the end, it turns out to be quite varied, and then as the Jam used to say: "that's entertainment!"
Tricky Pre-Millenium Tension

The first three by Tricky are all undeniably a solid 5 for me. 3 dark masterpieces, at times impenetrable (especially the second one, Nearly God, which requires a few listens to be fully appreciated), and above all, timeless. Flawless!

For me, the 4 is totally justified (even though it would be more accurate to say 3.5, compared to the other masterpieces they’ve produced). I saw the video for "Transformation," impressive... really impressive. But when the hell is the new album coming out?? Will they manage to release it by summer?

Great Soulman! Thank you for the list of names, many of which I didn't know... I will delve deeper and let plenty of blood flow into my cavernous bodies.

Yes, surely Peebles had a much less appealing image than this piece of ass, and I think this also affected the little attention it received at the time. I also agree about Margie Joseph's cover... a showstopper. Speaking of funk and soul, I was torn about getting this box set: VARIOUS ARTISTS - What It Is! Funky Soul And Rare Grooves (1967-1977) - Amazon.com Music do you know it by any chance? In the end, it goes for 35 euros...

She released only three albums, but they are truly remarkable. Along with Ann Peebles, they are my favorites in the genre.
Ramones End Of The Century

After years of not listening to them, lately I've rediscovered the Ramones with this album (along with Pleasant Dreams) that I almost completely snubbed back in the day. There's not much to add to what you've written; it's a shame about the guitars being so understated and, in general, the sounds being too muted, but we all know that's how Phil Spector was—take it or leave it! I've always found it amusing that a historic and essential band like the Ramones never managed to break into the top ten of the sales charts in their twenty-year career...

8 in the report card for Alexx who referenced Maxwell, since compared to other R&B singers, he is not given much credit (at least here in Italy).
The Shadows Of Knight Gloria

A group that I appreciated quite a bit for a while, but then I stopped listening to them, preferring other more acid garage bands that are less pop. Yes, because in my opinion, one of the flaws of this band is that alongside some fantastic singles, they've also recorded a few rather bland and watered-down songs, a bit like what happened to the Blues Magoos, for example. Anyway, congratulations for reviewing them; the gazzers thank you :)
