Yes, okay Poletti, but I don't understand why you're saying this in this review... I don't know.

Poletti, what drug did you choose tonight? What song?

this is beautiful, nothing like outdated! and nothing like that circus act by Branagh! for those who love Shakespearean cinema, I recommend Richard III by Richard Loncraine. An unusual version set in the 30s, with a Third Reich atmosphere. Magnificent.

de Havilland and Leigh would do better to be remembered for films like The Dark Mirror or Hush…Hush, Sweet Charlotte, the former, and A Streetcar Named Desire or her theatrical performances with Olivier, the latter. I understand that you might like Bubi and Poletti, and I respect that, and that it was something unusual at the time, but now what else has it left behind, besides a sense of being outdated, cloying, fake, and sugary? The dialogues are unbearable as well.

It's true, Poletti, I concede that it's anti-racist if we want to say so, and I also believe that the actress who plays Mamie was the first woman of color to win (or just be nominated for?) an Oscar. However, films like Gone with the Wind I just can't stand. Sorry :-)

Poletti, in my personal opinion, for me they are unwatchable films now, unlike others that came out much earlier than Gone with the Wind. The novel is said to be mediocre too! At least for me, films like Gone with the Wind have this effect of being outdated and stale. I'm not referring to the quality of the film itself, which I watched years and years ago. Douglas Sirk does not appeal to me at all; he doesn't align with my tastes, but credit to him for inspiring someone like Fassbinder!
