I quote Bartle, the third alien by David Fincher may not be likable because it’s less spectacular than the previous one, but it is much, much more apocalyptic and oppressive. Throughout the film, there is a persistently gloomy and claustrophobic atmosphere and a sense of inevitable catastrophe. And there is action. A punch in the stomach are the scenes of the girl’s autopsy and the funeral. In my opinion, it was the dress rehearsal for Seven.

Travis, my comment was not directed at you; I just seized the opportunity to share my thoughts on this album and on Genesis' progressive music, which is wrongly considered pompous and overly baroque. But it wasn't an attack on you; in fact, I honestly hadn't even read your post :-)

The same applies to the entire album. Much more pompous is the "rival" Close to the Edge, but that pompousness is entirely fitting, essential.

supper's ready has nothing grandiloquent or excessive. Everything is in its place, almost perfectly. It is one of the most varied, complex suites, and at the same time, among the least pompous in progressive rock, contrary to what a layman or someone whose ear isn’t well-trained in prog might think.

I take this opportunity, especially since Truffaut is French and present in this film, to debunk the stereotype that Parisians are assholes. This is not the case at all; contrary to the episode with my programmer friends, it was actually they who made an effort to speak Italian with me, perhaps moved by pity for my French. Moreover, they are polite and clean. And all of this, hear me out, happened in the August after we won the World Cup. Excuse my enthusiasm! :-)
