Claude Debussy Prélude à l'Après-Midi d'un Faune

You are right, Wanderer; indeed, to be picky, composition cannot be divorced in any case from execution (and, therefore, from interpretation). However, I don't know how many of the potential readers would have appreciated a technical analysis of the interpretation, and secondly, I'm not sure I would have been up to such a task myself. Anyway, thank you for the advice (usually "Il Mare" is always included with the preludes). As for the jazz version, it would be interesting to listen to. I’ll see if I can find it on Emule (But is it possible that it’s a trio?).

Certainly, if it's not more complex, it is definitely more innovative, and thus less conscious of expectations and common standards, and therefore more "assimilable."
Even Scriabin is not more complex compositionally than any of the greats of Russian music, yet I find him the most difficult artist to listen to.
Moreover, from an instrumental standpoint, the constant presence of percussions in Stravinsky, besides anticipating much contemporary music, is definitely an element of linearity that is more easily recognizable (see, for example, what the Greeks wrote about 2500 years ago regarding Phrygian rhythms with flutes, cymbals, and timpani).

First: Heraclitean, not Socratic, ignorant. Second: your grandfather will be a Greek professor. Third: go back to writing reviews on stuff that suits you (the vibrations, according to your profile).

I listened to the "Sagra" when I was twenty. At twelve, I listened to Nirvana.
I find Schoenberg more complex than Stravinsky anyway.
I don’t have breakfast.

I turned on my computer thinking about reviewing Mussorgsky’s "Pictures" or Stravinsky's "Rite." Well, I got exactly what I wanted. The review of both works was excellent, with just one personal gloss: I didn't find the Rite so difficult to listen to; on the contrary, I think it's a relatively "catchy" piece, despite the compositional strangeness and the stylistic innovations. Now I’m going to dig through some more records...

I would have reviewed it myself a few days ago if it had been a bit more original and engaging, since I bought it the very day it was released. In reality, it’s not really much. Isa is on another level, meyhem, listen to it better, appreciate it, and maybe review it.

Thank you all for the "welcome."
To odradek, I would like to respond that, indeed, comparisons with Grieg and Sibelius (respectively Norwegian and Finnish) are quite bold, certainly, but in this case, at least in my opinion, legitimate.
And anyway, thank you for the warm reception!
As for you, mayhem, I share many of your musical inclinations (including those for Italian progressive), and I really appreciated some of your reviews.
Eld and Nemesis are great, for sure, but not as much as Vikingligr Veldi and Shadowthrone, for example (to only mention works from the same ensembles).
Dimmu Borgir, up until 2000 (at most). The Emperor, on the other hand, despite having several of their albums, have never particularly moved me. Who knows why.
P.S. The Forest Is My Throne is a very evocative title, especially for a band like Satyricon, but the substance of the album is far from significant.

"What a sadness... to see albums of this level (as well as others) with only two comments." I agree, even if I'm late. I've just reviewed the second (sic) Enslaved on Debaser, even though it’s actually a demo from 1995... (even if late - again).
P.S. Enslaved are too refined, not just for the average metalhead.
P.P.S. Isa is fantastic, Ruun (the very latest), unfortunately a bit less so.
P.P.P.S. Vikingligr Veldi, Hordanes Land, Yggdrasill, Frost and Eld are unmatched, nonetheless.
