I would also add a sprinkle of "Audition"; while reading the review, I thought of Takashi Miike's film. Anyway, Floyd, I looked it up, the actress was 18 at the time, but this movie is out there; how did you manage to see it?
Martin Scorsese The Departed

DiCaprio hasn't made a bad film since 2002; not all of them are masterpieces, but none are a total mess. In the last three films (The Aviator, The Departed, and Blood Diamond), he has truly shown that he has matured and improved a lot. He definitely deserved a few more awards, and above all, he's an intelligent person since he chooses to work with experienced directors. So don't come to tell me that Scorsese is an idiot, considering he wanted him to star in his last three projects.

"America Today" and "The Protagonists" are certainly Altman's last great works. I haven't seen all of his films, but allow me to recommend "The Long Goodbye" from '73.

I quote whoever said that the real fun comes from the "secondary" characters, Tommy Lee Jones like you've never seen him before, Robert Downey Jr, and Tom Sizemore at the highest level for three bastard characters, symbols of a rotten society, but in the end, they turn out to be irresistible.
Michael Mann Miami Vice

Underrated and anti-spectacular. Immense direction. A film not understood by most people.

Anyway, just like that: Madsen - Vic Vega, Travolta - Vincent Vega. And then Travolta proved to be a great actor with this role, but who knows where he would be without the call from Pulp Fiction, probably he didn't have the house with the airport included...

For those who saw the movie: do you think the final scene with Pamela Anderson was a bit staged? Because otherwise she would have been risking quite a lot...
