Michael Mann & Meg Gardiner Heat 2. 1988-2000
Voto:
No, but in fact I mentioned that it might not appeal to some, for heaven's sake everyone has their tastes. However, in my opinion, when there's a film considered a masterpiece, it deserves to be watched again and given another chance. For example, I saw "Brazil" by Gilliam as a teenager, and it didn't impress me at all. Watching it again about a month ago with a different perspective, I realized what a wonderful film it is.

At first listen, I have to say it's not bad. Not a masterpiece, but not crap either. Let's see if the rating goes up on subsequent listens.

I go against the tide. Personally, I consider it overrated and it heavily draws from past films.
Mel Gibson La Passione Di Cristo

I mostly agree with the review; it's been too long since I last saw it, and it has always evoked mixed feelings in me. I should rewatch it.

I don't understand how these guys haven't made it big. The album is fantastic, not even hard to listen to for less attentive ears, and the frontman Jimmy Gnecco is quite a good-looking guy (and I'm saying this as a straight man). I discovered the album years ago (maybe thanks to this review) and I still listen to it.
Checco Zalone Tolo Tolo

Another incredible enigma of Italian cinema. At this point, better the cinepanettoni. At least they didn't have socio-political aspirations and pretensions of making quality cinema. I'm increasingly convinced that Zalone is a miraculous talent.
J. J. Abrams Star Wars: L'ascesa di Skywalker
Voto:
An unnecessary trilogy: the first film is practically a copy of Lucas's original, the second is ugly and boring. I can't even imagine what this one is like.
Matt e Ross Duffer Stranger Things (stagione 1)

A series of considerable respect, but a tad overrated. It seems to me that apart from a few original ideas, the rest draws heavily from various '80s films like "It," "Stand By Me," "Fenomeni paranormali incontrollabili," "E.T.," and others (aside from the intentional homage, I expected more inspiration from the creators). Moreover, it often relies on stereotypes, particularly in the psychology of some main and secondary characters, with a few of the latter reduced to caricatures. However, it must be said that the series is enjoyable and entertaining; there's nothing to complain about, never a dull moment, excellent setting, and atmosphere—overall great entertainment. I was a bit disappointed by the final episode, where I expected more. As a series, I somewhat compare it to "La Casa di Carta" (not in terms of genre, obviously), because I noticed a huge public anticipation, and personally, I don't find it as enjoyable; I liked it, but without enthusiasm, I could also do without it.
