Oh my God, I wouldn't exactly call the vibes of "Yellow" and "Shiver" JOYFUL... I can't stand the track-by-track analysis; I think the album is beautiful, on the contrary.

"In the summer, on the other hand, I shun the rays of the sun and keep away from the sea, the beaches, the chaos and the frenzied beach activity that, like the plague, catches and spreads rapidly among the inhabitants of my city, who, like in the old black-and-white films with Aldo Fabrizi, flock en masse to infest the beaches of Ostia. Where they feast, greedy and laden with sunscreen, but at the same time cold, skeletal, ghostly."

...damn... I didn't like In Silico (evidence being my DeFinizione dei Pendulum) and I only like the electronic tail of The Tempest...

I acknowledge the irreconcilable differences in our views. Until my next DeRece d'n'b! :D

I'm listening to "Annihilation" by Klute and it's impressive how, 12 years later, as you say, there are still people proposing more or less the same thing. "The Fifth Column" by Photek, on the other hand, falls into the category of what bores me. I would like to hear the rest, but the slowness of my connection currently prevents me from doing so. In any case, what Pendulum has done and is doing is different for me, not worse. I think it's simply a matter of taste; from the two tracks I've heard, it seems to me that you prefer stuff that's more aggressive and less catchy. Maybe you would like tracks from Pendulum like Voyager, Parameter, Axle Grinder (if you feel like it, try giving them a listen on YouTube).

Untilted, for example, what do you think of a piece like this? It's from 2010.

Would you be up for exchanging something from the '90s? To understand what you mean because I admit that the d'n'b I listen to is contemporary and the little bit of older stuff I've heard bored me after a while.

Postscript: I don't love arguments over definitions, but I wouldn't know how to define Chuckie's remix other than house.

It's unlikely that Pendulum has completely buried drum and bass, considering the scene is very much alive. That they might not be liked for the shift they took after HYC is another story, but put like that, it’s akin to saying that Dari have completely buried rock. Furthermore, in this Pendulum album, there’s the starting track but the interpretations are by other artists, so rating "the group" rather than the album doesn’t make sense. Saludos a tutti!

I can also share the critiques of the album, of which I only know one song ("Solo Una Botta") that at least is fun, but throwing shade on an entire music genre is always too much...the review is pretty unreadable.
