Hoobastank The reason

Hi...the review isn't bad and hits the point perfectly...namely that out of the entire CD, only the first 5 songs (in my opinion) leave a mark, while the others seem like mere fillers (except for the "hit" The Reason)...in short, as an album, it's nothing special, significantly inferior to their debut album "Hoobastank"...

how much bullshit the commercial stuff is... make a great album -> sell millions of copies -> they play the video on MTV and the singles on the radio... it's natural...

I just wanted to clarify that in the previous comment I'm serious! However, it came out a bit annoying as a comment...

I had already read that stuff translated in emotionalbreakdown but it didn't really clear things up for me... in that case, are From First to Last Hardcore Punk?? Or can we say that for the masses (myself included) From First to Last are emocore while for the few chosen ones who know the true emo that died out quickly, they're something else!!! Seems like a good compromise to me...

So, it's really a misunderstanding about the genre... I've always read on sites that I considered quite specialized regarding this, like EmotionalBreakdown, that emocore bands were bands like From Autumn to Ashes... that pop/rock screamo were bands like The Used; Story of the Year; Hawthorne Heights; Silverstein... Anyway, in this case, what do you think is a definition of emo??? I mean, how do I recognize if a song is emo?? Any characteristic elements?? I want to learn (seriously!!!) =)) peace! Tobby

I don't know, I think Hawthorne Heights are partly emo... by emo, I mean sugary guitars and lullaby-like vocals + lyrics that talk about broken hearts, etc... and anyway, they are definitely SCREAMO POP, no doubt about that...

Nice review, I haven't listened to the album thoroughly so I won't rate it but Hand Of Blood is amazing...

I totally agree with those who hate pop/punk, but there are also people who like it, and this is one of the best bands of the genre in recent years... honestly, going so far as to read reviews of bands that play a genre you don't like just to talk shit about them is a bit pathetic... =)
