I agree with what you said. I regret saying after Skin & Bones and In Your Honor, "oh my God, what a finished band." Assuming I was going to listen to yet another work from a band past its prime, I listened to this album and was positively surprised. Perhaps that's why I give it a solid 4 out of 5; the astonishment is significant. The Pretender is an excellent single and it reminds me of the first three albums of the band, great gems of grunge/punk-influenced rock. Well, after these wasted words, I'll go back to listening to the Foo. And no one touch Grohl in the Foo and as a drummer, even though I wasn't a fan of Nirvana.

You could have focused a bit more on the songs themselves; you only talked about external and personal facts. Overall, I think the album is worth it at least partially. Sonata fans can only find it exhaustive; I believe the single, much like half of the tracks, despite being filled with melodious and calm tones—thereby straying from the power component that made them famous—is a beautiful piece, and certainly not predictable. Of course, anyone who thinks this is prog or heavy must have suffered quite a bit as a child, because it doesn’t seem to be the case at all. But the Finnish production hasn’t stagnated even with Unia, and all the albums released in 2007 by Nordic bands have not disappointed me in the least. For metal fans, it’s always a breath of fresh air. The 3 for the album is because trying to slow down the tempo for them could be a starting point, but unfortunately, they didn't succeed. Staying on faster tempos was their salvation. "Paid In Full" is a great track worthy of Ecliptica in any case.

Well-crafted review and a truly majestic album. The Dimmu never betray.

Well-written review even if I don't agree with many things. Reznor, in my opinion, has not always been a writer of masked pop; I believe he has been a composer capable of changing faces multiple times to avoid falling into the banal. This album is more radio-friendly, catchier, and less inspired, but it is certainly well-constructed, technical, and showcases a noteworthy pop composition. After all, who ever said that pop has to be ugly? Did Depeche Mode only make crap? I don't think anyone believes that.

Very beautiful album, definitely superior to With Teeth and worthy of Reznor's and NIN's great name. The review is comprehensive, but a little comment on some tracks would have been nice; for the rest, I agree with every sacred word. Industrial may have had deeper roots than Ministry, but without them, it would have collapsed shortly after. There’s no doubt about that.

Jpop is a genre that truly deserves attention. Those who offend pop music just because it's trendy among the alternative crowd might not even be from this planet. After all, britpop also produced some amazing bands in the past, and the clichés the market imposes on it are different. Jpop, although I don't know Utada, is a very unique genre, definitely worthwhile, especially considering groups like T.M. Revolution. I haven't heard this album, so I'm only judging the review.
Dir en Grey The Marrow of a Bone

There was a missing sentence. "Those who say that visual kei is dead, in my opinion, are wrong; in fact, this, as correctly stated by [outofit], is not the most strictly applicable label for DeG."

The album is really well made and very engaging; those who say that visual kei is dead, in fact, it is not dead at all. Maybe D'espairsRay can be considered visual kei, as they have churned out some quite commercial tracks; I don’t know the Japanese scene and its marketing moves very well, but Dir En Grey is a very valid proposition that I don’t think should be dismissed just based on hearsay or comparisons. They need to be listened to, savored, and digested first. The Marrow Of A Bone is a great album, although I find Withering To Death to be better, especially in its closer affiliation with the visual kei that is being so denigrated in these comments. The review is good, and mistakes shouldn’t be held against anyone; they happen to everyone. Well done.

Thank you so much, I'll get the last two soon. Spiderland by Slint has obviously been on my mind for a while now considering how many times I've listened to it, that album is sacred. Anyway, I appreciate it, you're giving useful advice, especially because it's true that my musical spectrum, although it seems wide to me, is still quite limited compared to the maximum possible – given the obviousness of the facts, it's always better to keep in mind that there are those who know more. As for the rest, I would say I don't agree with so many people criticizing me without having seen the concert; I meant to write the review for those who were there, but it's fine anyway, come on ;) don't worry, I didn't take it out on anyone, heaven forbid!

Well, I will inform myself about that too. Anyway, these are also opinions; I like the way he writes. I mean, to give an example, it's well-known that Alberto from Verdena writes terrible lyrics, I think the worst in the Italian scene alongside Vasco Rossi, and even he admits that they make no sense. Despite this, there are those who say they are poetic. In the end, the true meaning of a text is known only by the one who wrote it, and the message received can vary from person to person, so it’s obvious that this is subjective as well. It’s more noticeable when someone writes nonsense like various Vasco Rossi, Ligabue, etc., who especially in their latest albums make grammar mistakes that are worthy of jokes about carabinieri. Anyway, I'm sorry you didn't like "saputello" as musicians; the concert was very long and therefore quite boring, but they played very well, at least that’s my opinion.
