this last comment shows that you really didn't understand the film and you get stuck on a sentence deliberately overlooked by Sorrentino. The judgment of history (well done vellutogrigio) weighs much more than any judgment that the judiciary is capable of issuing or not.

Clearly, Sorrentino did not want to dwell on the acquittal (which everyone knows). In the film, many more things are said: Andreotti, head of the P2, mastermind behind state massacres, the murders of Sindona, Calvi, Pecorelli, Ambrosoli, Dalla Chiesa. Responsible for Moro's death and the hidden manipulator of the Mani Pulite investigation (a revenge for not being elected to the Quirinale?). His relationships with the mafia are extensively described, making any commentary on the verdict superfluous (which could not be addressed in a grotesque film like Il Divo).
