Whitesnake Whitesnake 1987

.....I gave it a 5 rating because in the '80s this album was "a true gem" ..with the global release of the catchy tunes (compared to '87) by Bon Jovi. Coverdale and the gang responded, not just well but even better...showing the new generation (...Jovi) that in the masters of melodic hard rock, there always are and will be the Whites... with an almost flawless album....with this preamble, I feel a bit like a mandrocker...but I can't rate this album "only" with a 4, even though giving it a 5 feels a bit heavy for me (considering that in the past, their old albums engaged me more) ....but since there’s no real difference between a 4 and a 5....then I’ll round it up by half a point...it doesn't weigh too much on me...
P.S...Have you heard the new "clone" of Coverdale?...a certain Jorn Lande who has released, if I'm not mistaken, 17 CDs since 1994, with bands like Vagabond, Ark, The Snakes (a band with ex-Whitesnake members), Jorn (listen to the first CD "STARFIRE" by Lande with this lineup, and tell me he isn’t the worthy heir of Coverdale, especially with the remarkable cover of "Burn"), Mondanus Imperium (a decent album, but the remake of "Stargazer" by Rainbow is spine-chilling!!!), Millennium, Brazen Abbot, Allen-Lande, and now he plays in Masterplan (with former Helloween drummer and guitarist) ...but his latest project, Jorn (released about two months ago) is once again a great vocal tribute to Coverdale.....with a nod to R.J. Dio...
Whitesnake Slip Of The Tongue

I adore David Coverdale and his Whitesnake... I consider this a good album, great collaborations, but perhaps it's the least successful album in the career of the ...snake.... Coverdale himself, in an interview given in recent months to promote the "Still of the Night" concert DVD, considers "Slip of the Tongue" the least successful, because he felt too much pressure from the record label to release a clone of "87" ... Already the following album (if I'm not mistaken, "Restless Heart")... feels much more written without "weight".... And then in 2000: INTO THE LIGHT (released as just David Coverdale, but in my opinion very much Whitesnake), if there were a review on Debaser, it would personally deserve a nice 5 as a rating... because it's a tremendous album... with a Coverdale that hadn’t sounded like this in years....

x Adriano... I have both albums by Royksopp... the latest one is beautiful and the song 7 (sorry, I can't remember the title) featuring a singer in the Björk style drives me crazy... I also love Björk... then, okay, for Dire Straits, I have almost all the albums, and one by Dave Matthews... explain to me about Novembre, I've always heard about them but never listened... tell me the genre and be objective... if you can... and also about Sigur Rós... and I need to get Porcupine Tree...

Thank you jettojet... and I agree with you about Blackmore's great guitar on "catch the rainbow"... then in the "on Stage" version that stretches the song to 15 minutes... you can't help but scream with joy at the end... As for Adriano, I'm glad you're talking like this... well done... I would love to know your musical tastes and what you listen to, also to have some feedback and maybe recommendations you can give me about other artists I don't know... and feel free to express your opinions, even the negative ones, but more gently, respecting the artist, because no matter how much you think someone made a terrible album, they still put their time and "I believe" good effort into a product that should then allow them to "eat tons of bread"... bye Paolo

Hi Adriano... by the way, I officially apologize for insulting you, and TRUST ME, I SIGN MY NAME SAVOPARDO AND NOT LIKE THAT IDIOT who didn't have the courage to sign... Anyway, ok... I got a bit worked up with you just because wherever I see you around for reviews, you can come off as a bit heavy with your "critique"... but everyone is free to have their own opinions as they see fit....
Anyway, "Rainbow in the Dark" is by Dio (the former singer of Rainbow) and I don't particularly like it either... even though Dio had some little gems in the '80s... but Rainbow is a whole different thing... I agree that you should listen to some Rainbow (with R.J. Dio on vocals) like "Catch the Rainbow", but also "Temple of the King", "Man on Silver Mountain", "Gates of Babylon", and in my opinion above all, "Stargazer"... a true masterpiece of '70s melodic hard rock...
Hi Adriano...
ps... I wrote this message after sending you the private one, and I hadn't seen THAT IDIOT who didn't sign.... but I repeat, TRUST ME that it's not me.

For those who love classical music without pretensions...he (Yngwie Johann...Bach?) overestimates himself, but he succeeds quite well in creating good classical/rock atmospheres that are easy to grasp...well done!
