W.A.S.P. The Crimson Idol

...I was in the early '90s, venturing into this new world that was hard rock/metal... a friend gave me the LP, with this man on a cross-shaped bed on the cover.....but!!!! Sunday evening, 6:30 PM... I put the record on.....and damn... I spent the whole next hour in a total emotional state... that by the end I felt like crying.... beautiful beautiful beautiful.. A MASTERPIECE!!! Then, I listened to everything by Lawless, and of course I appreciated the more introspective albums more, from Headless Children (considered another gem by Lawless) to Neon God parts 1 and 2 (perhaps the least successful of all, although Mr. Blackie declared it to be the heir, and as his compositional effort, musically like "Crimson....") ...even though, all things considered, I don't mind "Inside the Electric Circus" or "The Last Command"...

...but....I honestly felt it the first time..and I said....well yes, maybe there's something reminiscent of Pink there....but then listening to it over and over again, now it's on the shelf with the CDs, sitting there for years (and on the shelf because I have all the albums and CDs of the Floyd)...I almost prefer "a momentary...." but with "division..." it could have been miraculous if instead of the Pink Floyd label there was...I don’t know...a Radiohead.....but with Gilmour's Floyd ...mmmmmm leaves you at the end of the album with "still hungry," and you have to go complete the meal with another one of their old CDs....

Well, I believe that Adriano is neither the punisher nor i-love music... I think that from what I know of him, he wouldn’t hide behind a name to tell you... or rather "spit on you" or "fill you with s...." or even vote "30 times in a row" to raise or lower the rating of an album... trust me, I've gone through this with him too... and I repeat... he has no problem telling you things, always using his own signature.

For me personally, it's the most beautiful album... just the suite alone... and then Lady in Black...
Russell Allen & Jorn Lande The Battle
Voto:
great voices, for me, slightly dated music that doesn't match their vocal qualities... still beautiful and very enjoyable....
for metaldiablo: ... so before this cd "The Battle", if you’ve never listened to anything by Jorn Lande, you should start with "Starfire" and then "The Duke" by Jorn... just to get started (considering Lande has 17 cds in about 13 years of career)

..yes, it’s not the first solo album, in fact it came out with STARFIRE, a gem for me...if there had been a review, I would have definitely given it a 5. Anyway, this one is not bad either, quite the opposite....but then, regarding availability, I didn't have many issues finding it...his old works like Vagabond, or The Snakes, or Mondanus Imperium, yes...but after the release with the first Ark, there hasn't been much for his future albums, great difficulty in finding them...Anyway, great Jorn Lande...a worthy vocal heir, in my opinion, of Coverdale, and why not...at times of R.J. Dio (listen to the latest Jorn that came out: "The Duke")

It's a decent album, even though the "maturity" of a-ha starts to show with the third album "Stay on These Roads" and then with the beautiful album "East of the Sun, West of the Moon"... and even their most misunderstood album from '94 (if I’m not mistaken) isn’t bad, a bit more of a "dark" pop/rock... but I believe it has a series of truly remarkable songs (listen to "Cold as Stone" or "Locust" and others).
P.S.....check out the three solo CDs by singer Morten Harket: "Wild Seed"... in the midst of the a-ha crisis, he released this beautiful album, and then the next two, one with religious songs set to pop, and then an album in Norwegian, although the sung language may seem "cold" to us, musically and technically it's a beautiful album...
