To define "Duran Duran" as a shooting star and a huge mistake shows a poor understanding of the early '80s music scene. Duran Duran were a band of significant relevance in the new romantic scene, and works like "Duran Duran" and "Rio" are essential for understanding the rock landscape of those years. Whether they were loved by teenage girls and ended up in magazines is another matter that doesn't pertain to the musical aspect. The discourse regarding Spandau Ballet is different, as they did not leave the same mark on the history of rock music. Adams is a honest rock worker.

Brosnan worked alongside Stephanie Zimbalist in "Remington Steele"; they were both very young actors, she was 25 in '81. She was much better, brilliant and with excellent timing, Brosnan was also pulled along and the mysterious character suited him perfectly. But then, absurdly, it was Pierce who had a career far above his actual merits (even in the early '80s they were saying that he had to be the new Bond) and Zimbalist dedicated herself largely to theater with small film cameos.

It's nice and curious that Andersson-Ulveaus have created other musicals but had never considered taking one out of the ABBA repertoire until the idea of "Mamma Mia." For me, Brosnan remains only the huge bronze face from "Remington Steele," where he showcases his one true talent, which is a remarkable brilliance in the most paradoxical situations...
