Paul McCartney Another Day

Lennon's first album, "Plastic Ono Band," is truly worthy and very beautiful, with tracks like "God," "Mother," "Working Class Hero," "Isolation," "Love"... all products of the '68-'69-'70 period, hidden by John who, in fact, only gifts "I Dig A Pony" for "Get Back." Paul, on the other hand, believing in that work, offers his best: "Let It Be," "The Long And Winding Road," "I've Got A Feeling," "Two Of Us," along with the outtakes "Junk" and "Teddy Boy." Also born from the same creative flow are "Maybe I'm Amazed" and "That Would Be Something."

Then in the early '70s he was pointed out by critics as the one who had caused the end of the Beatles; he simply had been the first, and only, to have the courage to leave because Lennon, it's history, wanted to record solo but also keep the group together to shield himself a bit, which Paul did not accept.

The three, Lennon, Harrison, and McCartney had very different artistic personalities, as "The Beatles" abundantly demonstrates. Lennon was the wizard of sharp words, Harrison had a particular creative vein, mystical and reflective. McCartney, of the three, was the true composer, the one who wakes up in the morning already with a melody in his head, "Yesterday," the one who, challenged by Dustin Hoffman, composes on the spot "Picasso's Last Words." Paul has always used words as sound, as signifier, which is why he comes across as the catchiest of the three.

Thank you for the comments. So, for Federock, "Another Day" is practically in all of Paul’s compilations since the first one, "Wings Greatest" from '78. The single is featured with both tracks in the '93 reissue of "Ram," which should soon go out of the EMI catalog to make way for the new upcoming reissue.

"The Selfish Gene" is an interesting and shareable analysis on evolution; in fact, we are a machine to enable our genes to reproduce in the best possible way, and as a biologist, I fully agree with this. This I do not know.

The "a cappella" song is "Tom's Diner," which opens "Solitude Standing" from 1987; the musical track is at the end of the LP.

No, Ringo is missing some LPs, I'll leave it to others ;)

Well, the album is good, but Finardi recorded great LPs before this one, where he begins to detach from previous themes; however, "Dal Blu" from 1983 is better, a real little gem. Here it's the anger of "F104" that stands out, along with the pearl "Patrizia" that each of us would have liked to have written.
