A light, nice Spielberg, but his career has been filled with ups and downs since the '90s, then increasingly more downs, except for a last hurrah like "Prova A Prendermi."

I am 50% Sardinian, and the remaining part Ligurian/Piedmontese... like Andrea Parodi ;)

Never seen it, but it's one of Starr's most successful films, where he acts alongside his wife Barbara Bach.

Attention all Beatles fans, as I've already mentioned in other reviews of McCartney, the new remastered catalog is on its way; the composition of the new "Band On The Run" has been revealed, and it will be released in 4 versions: single disc, double disc featuring the clean tracks from "One Hand Clapping," triple disc that adds the bonus disc from the '99 edition, and listen closely… a double disc + DVD version with material from the Nigerian sessions, videos, and finally ONE HAND CLAPPING!!!!

Indeed, the Beatles were influenced by rock 'n' roll; Buddy Holly, for example, is a constant reference for Paul. But those sounds already belong to their adolescence; the music that truly shaped them consists of the old standards from the '30s and '40s, that is, the music of their parents, the kind they heard coming from the record players. There are continuous references to those types of sounds in their production, especially in Paul's work, and Ringo openly paid tribute to it with his first LP.

Cute, but for me, McCartney's are much better, like "Run Devil Run" for example or the super domestic "Holly Days" from '77.

Rumors are starting to circulate about the reissues of Paul McCartney's catalog handled by Hear Music and distributed by Universal. The records are expected to be released in 4 formats: single disc in a cardboard edition faithfully reproducing the original artwork, double disc, double disc + DVD, and double vinyl. From what can be inferred, Paul seems to have decided to open the archives and release all the unreleased material, or at least part of it. Therefore, there should be no box sets of rarities or unreleased live recordings. If these are the characteristics, it will be the largest reissue campaign ever undertaken; perhaps we will finally see the original versions of "Red Rose Speedway" (double LP) and "McCartney II" (double LP), while "Off The Ground" will most likely be made available in its entirety (the second LP had been split into 3 EPs that are now hard to find)....we'll see, on 09/28/10, Band On The Run will be released.

McCartney has always had a different approach to music, quirky, complex and sometimes frivolous. He has always recorded for pleasure and almost never out of necessity; when he found himself in a bind or in difficulty, he created incredible masterpieces (Band On The Run, Flaming Pie for instance), while other times he just played around (Mary Had A Little Lamb, Bip Bop, Hey Diddle) with curious results. He probably spent more time recording in his home studios than anyone else; he had one built for him at just 23 years old in the basement. He is an undisputed genius, but often he needed someone nearby to guide him; he himself has admitted to being unable to assess his own material. This is why he has an entire parallel discography, half-secret, that would be the fortune of many nowadays.

Ah (!) my comments were general considerations, absolutely not critical of your position ;)
