Elton John The Diving Board
Voto:
he doesn't miss a beat anymore; after the junk produced between 1984 and 1990, he's made a remarkable comeback... it might be the fatherhood too.
Robert Redford The Conspirator
Voto:
Redford is the soul of '70s American cinema, the everyman shaken by modernity. This is very beautiful, with a clean direction whose style is inherited from his great master Pollack. "Ordinary People" is perhaps his best direction.

I don't understand why he reincluded "Hi Hi Hi" since he had declared that he could never sing a somewhat naughty song like that... it was rumored that he would include "With A Little Luck" (scheduled for the 1980 tour in Japan) but he didn't do anything about it!

This man lives to play, and at 71 years old, three hours of concert is no small feat. I saw him in Milan in 2011, with an audience ranging from six-year-old kids to his peers. He is incredibly generous, perhaps too much so, sacrificing his repertoire for some trivial Beatles songs (Lovely Rita), but he remains an artist of extraordinary value. A bit more Wings and less Beatles, Paul!
Rumiko Takahashi Maison Ikkoku

does not do it justice

I have the entire manga... the TV series.
Scorpions Animal Magnetism

Cover made by Hipgnosis... I have the vinyl, just like the one for "Lovedrive." I bought them initially just for the beautiful covers; I wanted to hang them up, but I really like the records... this one just a tad more.
Paul Simon One-Trick Pony
Voto:
Cute, his minor album up to that point. I once considered "Graceland" the quintessential '80s album, but having studied the work of De Andrè-Pagani better, Simon's good album shrinks significantly; it’s "Creuza de Ma" that is the '80s album.
Simona Molinari Dr.Jekyll Mr.Hyde
Voto:
No, I'm really disappointed with this album full of glitter and "fancy"...the first three are on another level, this is just trash.
John Lennon Walls and Bridges
Voto:
Finally, the true Lennon, without all that peace and political fluff that he sprinkled on the records from '71 to '73... this is his best LP, it must have been the rapprochement with McCartney (see the sessions in LA in '74 and the hit of Band On The Run), Ringo's parties (Goodnight Vienna), the distance from Yoko, but here John is John!
