Genesis Three Sides Live
Voto:
From prog to pop-dance? It truly seems like a colossal nonsense. Sure, some tracks like "Turn IT oN Again" and "Abacab" have danceable nuances, but they are crafted with great class and perform incredibly live. The Genesis did well to change their style, and I don't criticize their choice to shift towards forms of pop-rock that energize and make you want to move. The '70s are gone; we are in 1982 and they are offering material that is definitely above average for the period. Plus, I don’t understand all this aversion towards the post-1977 Genesis; the only truly bad things they recorded are the second side of "Genesis" and "Invisible Touch." "Abacab," on the other hand, shows a certain nonchalance in the choice and composition of the songs, while the A-side of "Genesis" is an example of excellent sophisticated and refined pop-rock. It's a pity that the album then sinks embarrassingly.

Great suggestion, you really motivated me to go ahead with the purchase.
Phil Collins Face Value

I don't know what I would give to see a reunion even with just Collins; with their repertoire, aside from "Invisible Touch," they can easily satisfy everyone, something that "Yes" cannot do since they overlook one of their best works (probably the last) in terms of innovation, which is "Drama."

Exactly, it's out of print; you probably have the original version on CD. Anyway, Alice is missing reissues in the catalog for "Falsi Allarmi," "Charade," "Exit," "God Is My Dj," not to mention her first two albums as a singer, which are now rarities. I don't know, but it really seems strange to me that EMI has reissued her entire catalog except for the 1983 album and "Mezzogiorno Sulle Alpi" from 1992. Maybe it's just a matter of time; for the records from 1995 onwards, the issue is in Warner's hands.
Phil Collins Face Value
Voto:
Collins did not destroy Genesis; it’s a banal and obvious statement that I have always despised. Genesis changed their style dramatically, something that bands like Yes or ELP did not do, or at least not completely. The band shifted towards more complex pop-rock forms (Abacab, Me And Sarah Jane, Mama, Home By The Sea) and then experienced a tremendous drop with the second side of "Genesis" and "Invisible Touch." However, with "We Can't Dance," they fully regained control of their abilities. In my view, Genesis, for better or for worse, are definitely superior to other prog bands that have turned to pop.

When I will be able to get the album, which is not yet available on CD, EMI should reprint it just like they did with all the others released by Alice under them.

Vinyl remains, in my opinion, because it has its enthusiasts and lovers who keep it alive. As for the needles, they can still be found easily, and then the sound quality of vinyl, the crackling noise, and the sound the needle makes when it touches the record are unique.

It's a nice problem, but my job is to make it known. Hello.

We see it in the opposite way, however, regarding your ideas, and it's always nice to see someone who is passionate about a group or an artist. Bye.

Come on, the Queen had an exaggerated commercial success for what they produced; with this, I don't criticize their music, but I must praise EMI, which has always done incredible promotional campaigns for their albums and is still able to ask for 20 euros for "Hot Space," which is a real joke. The same goes for "The Works" and the rest of their production from the '80s. But for this, I also criticize EMI for the costs of the catalogs of the Beatles and Pink Floyd, but for them, the story is very different, especially for the former.
