Genesis The Lamb lies down on Broadway

Great music, convoluted and exhausting history. It's no coincidence they'll parody it during the '76 tour... "lamb in a casserole" etc...

I listen to both sides.

Last LP. Then the vertical collapse. They are inspired by prog, the melody is also present in hard rock... writing pop songs is harder than creating certain hard rock structures.

With Cetera's abandonment, they fell into the weighted AOR... I think 21 is their grave.

While I appreciate his albums up to 1981, I find him limited in ideas, always the same ones, turned and turned again.

I like them isolated in their own universe; when they interact... rubbish.

Antonello Venditti Lilly

Listening to all of Dylan's work, I have redefined De Gregori as a compulsive quote-user. Venditti is superior in this regard, especially in his early albums, more in tune with his time... more direct. "Buona Domenica" is the first misstep with that awful plagiarism of "Don't Stop" by Fleetwood Mac, which is the title track. He partially redeems himself with "Sotto la Pioggia," thanks to Ron. Then... well, it's a nostalgic one-note theme, school... etc... and musically irrelevant, even though "Cuore" still plays on the turntable with dignity... plagiarism of Jackson Browne aside, "Mai Nessun Video Mai" is a copy of "Cut it Away."
